Yes , yes and yes ,What is your grow medium?
How big is it?
The rule of thumb is they need less water for a while to encourage root growth, and don't give them too bright of a light until they recover from shock. Dont overfeed.
Ok I'm using ffof in a 2qt pot now but will be going to a 3 gal fabric. It only a week old now .What is your grow medium?

I big or old should I wait till I know it's ready for transplant .Respectfully disagree Roots don't grow into dry medium you want to encourage the roots to grow out and down not just in that little circle around the stem I recommend you water that whole pot until you get some run off and then don't water it again until it feels light
Couple more weeks at least til you transplant, meanwhile wait til the pot is light in your hand before watering and NO NUTES.Ok I'm using ffof in a 2qt pot now but will be going to a 3 gal fabric. It only a week old now .
I wait until the pot its in has enough roots to hold the wet soil together so it comes out in one piece. Keep it together and slightly prune the roots, then place in new container of wet soil.I big or old should I wait till I know it's ready for transplant .
Thanks man on advice I think I'm gonna do like you said . This is the first time i used ff myself I have auto I put straight in 3 gal pot nd water till I got 10% run off and it as help it moisture real well now for a week and still pretty heavy so haven't watered again yet.Hydro grower says... if you have a media with good drainage water thoroughly and let dry before watering again. If you has a media that holds a lot of moisture you will need to modify your watering. Never used FF So i couldn't comment on how well it drains. Maybe someone can help ya there. Possibly some added perlite will be better.
When transplanting imo (wanna be clear only my opinion) I feel it's best to wet the media thoroughly about 24 hours before the transplant to let it drain. Soil should be damp/moist not wet or dry. Those with experience won't need to do this but for a new grower I feel it's a safe method.
Don't lower light duration. Just lower the intensity until you see new growth start could be a day or 3. Depending on how sensitive the plant is.
Raise humidity to help ease the stress it puts on the root system. I suggest 70-75% just for a day or 2 then drop back down to 60-65% which is where I like my veg humidity.
Some may agree and other may disagree but you asked for tips and those are my tips.
This sounds scary for a first time grower the pruning the roots part . Any more advice or links to where I could see it being done . And thanks for the info .I wait until the pot its in has enough roots to hold the wet soil together so it comes out in one piece. As long as its full of roots and stays together it's no big deal. You need to stay in the 2 qt for another 3 weeks or so.This sounds scary for a first time grower the pruning the roots part . Any more advice or links to where I could see it being done . And thanks for the info .
Personally I feel it's best to wait for the plant to fill it's current container with roots before up potting like @growsince79 said. It makes watering much easier and I feel like you will have a much denser root system in the end. You will know when to up pot because you will have to water very often just to keep the soil moist. Thanks man on advice I think I'm gonna do like you said .
