Yesterday I received 3 cuts..Bruce Banner #3 and #5 and also Headband. The BBs were cut a week ago yesterday (unsure when Headband was cut) and were placed in a styro cup w water and a lid. The BBs both have stubs where roots are about to form, but when they were cut none of the lower nodes were cleaned up. When I looked in the cup I noticed that the first node, untrimmed and barely above the root stubs, is submerged by the water, and isnt much higher than where the stubs are developing. If I were to put into a cube deep enough to cover stubs, the fist node would be level w the surface. Headband was trimmed up, but know signs of roots yet.
I know you are supposed to trim nodes and clean up the cutting prior to placing into medium, but I also know that once a cut starts to develop roots trimming or cutting can stress/stunt plant. Would it be okay to trim the lower nodes prior to putting in cubes despite stubs are developing? Or should I just not plant as deep? Both BB cuts have >1" of stem that has stubs on it..should I just plant ~3/4" deep?
