hey bro its looks like the water temps a lil to cold for ur babies?? not sure but a lil light yellowing on new growth will cause that....its cant stud ur plants too..not sure cant really tell ..keep it up loving updates every other day.....
hey stu
where did u pick up that silver/foil that i see everyone applying around the uc tubs. is it a home depot thing or something more.
thanks
Nice and clean setup stu! Your photos are great and the plants look like they're about to take off... Also I looked back, but didn't see how much CalMag these girls are getting... Seems like they could use a tad bit though...:cool
Yeah I haven't used their nutes, but I'm very interested in them... Also Dutch Masters says not to use any CalMag either, but I needed to add a small amount cuz I was running below their recommended dose from their nutrient calculator... :thinking
hey stu have u lift up the reflictive stuff up to see if u see any damping around that top part ur covering???
I didn't add any when I first filled my system, but began to add 2 ml/gal of CalMag to RO during manual top offs. Also I added 2 ml/gal of CalMag when I mixed the bloom nutes and flipped, but I couldn't completely drain the veg nutes... I'll provide more details on my next update... :coolHow much cal mag did you add to you formula, ml/gallon?
i started off with a light dose (5ml/gal i think...) then let the mixing rez settle for 2 days and took PH/PPM readings and was around 350-400ppm. I wanted to start higher then that for veg since i prevegged a little in my ezcloner with GH macro @ around 400-500ppm.
So i added i think like 3ml/gal more HEavy to balance the ratio out and increase ppms but it went higher then i wanted. i think like 800-900ppm. so i played the balancing game of RO here.... PH down there... etc. its not how i want the rez mixing to go but with any new system u gotta learn the shit and make tweaks as u go along.
anyways regarding the calmag im thinking about adding a small amount in myself since during transplant i had noticed interesting deficiences that im not sure wat exactly it all was. mite of been hardwater issues before when i started rooting. my tap water is terrible at the shop. sumthing like 500ppm at 8.0ph so im always using RO now. now that the older leaves have been sucked dry from nute uptake, its leaving strange signs on fan leaves. End result my ladies are working to get bak to a dark green during veg as they should be. ill be doing an update in a couple days and get bak to u once i see how the adjustments worked out.
i know the owner of Field16 ag so im gonna give him a ring and see whats up cuz even he said no need for cal mag supp.

"Calcium deficiency is usually characterized by tip burning then mottling, but calcium deficiency can be brought on by high humidity and a lower evapo-transpiration rate regardless of large amounts in the nutrient solution. The only systems I have ever seen needing any Cal Mag amendments are with raw unwashed fresh coco coir that can have K in the 1000 ppm range. Since you guys are in a pure water culture system, there is no need for cal mag. In the grow room with sufficient lighting, the humidity needs to be adjusted to around 40-50% to get the vascular system bringing up fresh cations of Ca and Mg. Also if the roots are not large enough and the canopy is big, there can be deficiencies in uptake. You want a root to shoot ratio of no less than 1:1 with 2:1 and higher being optimum."
Hope this helps bro
