Athena IPM DESTROYED my spider mites. I now have clean healthy plants. I now mix big 5 gallon bucket of it and dip and swirl my clones/seedlings in it. No PM and no pests! Its expensive but worth it

Athena is just (lemongrass) oil. Lost Coast Plant Therapy and Pure Crop 1 both use soybean oil. Crop Defender is a blend of oils. Neem is an oil. Tons of mite products active ingredient is oil. I’m sure most of them work, but it can get expensive fast if you’re growing outdoors, with many large plants. (Crisco is 100% soybean oil - cost .15 cents an ounce at the grocery store.)

Here’s a study on using soybean oil to kill mites:

https://scispace.com/pdf/soybean-oil-controls-two-spotted-spider-mites-on-burning-2jwklpnvn9.pdf

You can make your own spray for pennies a gallon. (You don’t even need the last 2 ingredients.)

1-Gallon Spider Mite Spray Recipe:

• 1 tbsp soybean oil (~0.5 oz)
Primary suffocant, gentle and effective at this rate

• 2 tbsp isopropyl alcohol (70%) (~1 oz)
Excellent knockdown, still mild enough for most plants

• 1 tsp peppermint Castile soap
Emulsifier, mild insecticide, peppermint adds repellency

• 1/16 tsp citric acid (a pinch)
pH adjuster, antimicrobial edge

• 1/8–1/4 tsp aloe vera 200x powder
Leaf soother, micronutrient carrier, improves spray adhesion and penetration
