Anyone have any experience using self watering bases outside? If so, what media? I am currently using self watering planters for part of my outside grow. Things seem to be moving along smoothly so far. Just looking for some feedback. Here’s a clone I started back in February and has been bottom feeding since march. Using general hydroponics nutrients and ocean forest soil. When I transplant I was thinking of using coco to help absorption. Any thoughts or suggestions? I’m using ac infinity self watering planters xl

Nice setup! Using self-watering planters like the AC Infinity XL for outdoor grows is a smart move, especially for keeping consistent moisture and reducing watering frequency.

i only used a dripper and it worked wonders but i dont see why yours wouldn't work outside probably gonna waste a lot more water due to the heat but as long as you have a nice reservoar it shouldnt be a problem.
i just dont know if your water will get too much life in the heat.but as long as you grow soil i guess that shouldnt make any problems

I use them. I have a dozen of the AC Infinity self watering bases and 8 Spider Farmer wicking bases with 13 gallon reservoirs. They work very well in a rich organic media like "Roots Organic Lush," or even " Fox Farm's Ocean Forest." I use them in my greenhouse. This year, no cannabis in the greenhouse, but they are in use. I have a dozen roma tomato plants and 8 red bell peppers.

I have float valves inside my AC infinity bases so they auto-fill from the 55 gallon rain barrel. The pictures are from a couple of weekends ago. The plants are considerably larger now.

I have been working on a new Grow Room since moving back south after a divorce. Lived in Missouri for 32 years and had a growing license there. Now I am building a new garden center for my personal use. I had a similar setup in MO. But using Rainwater here. So just wanted to share my thoughts and experiences with a self watering system. Hopefully it will help some with watering. I can share my inside the room if someone is interested. I will check back in a day or so. Thanks

I took a little time to redraw my rain barrel collection system and how it works in delivering the water to my grow room. I hope it helps others in building a better system for their growing. I also did an exact calculation of cost of materials. I had some of the materials so my previous estimate was a little skewed because I didn’t take them into consideration!

I also drew my grow room. So you can see how I use the rainwater system. Hopefully it will help with grow room systems.
