Idk I guess I just felt like I always end up making a mess when Ive used cheesecloth I'm also doing like 50-100 grams of bud in a batch so it's alot to strain through cheesecloth.Cheesecloth is always the way to go IMO. What was your issue with it?
Just use two cheese cloths then strain half with one half with the other. and yea make sure the cheesecloth is folded so its not going thru it. Your not doing anything crazy like using a funnel right?Idk I guess I just felt like I always end up making a mess when Ive used cheesecloth I'm also doing like 50-100 grams of bud in a batch so it's alot to strain through cheesecloth.
I have never tried it but I bet a lemon squeezer would work perfectly.I have a question, I've been only eating my bud for awhile now and when I make infused coconut oil I feel like I'm losing alot of oil left in the bud when I'm done. What I currently do is use a stainless steel strainer and a single piece ice cream scooper that I use to press the oil out of the bud. I've also used cheesecloth before as well but didn't really like how that worked out. So my question is what kinda utensils have you used in the past to squeeze all the coconut oil out of the bud when straining your oil?
Huh, what exactly does that jerky blaster do? This looks like what I was thinking in my head but couldn't put a name toThese may work as I used these for getting as much as possible when making rsoView attachment 1188943View attachment 1188944
Thank you, while looking at the lemon squeezers I saw a potato ricer that looks like it is perfect for what I am trying to do so your suggestion lead me to a solution.I have never tried it but I bet a lemon squeezer would work perfectly.
I first decarb the bud at 235° for 45 mins. then I put the bud, water, and oil in my crockpot on low for 24 hours then I strain it and put the bud back into the crock pot with fresh oil for another 48 hours then I'll save that oil for the next time I need to make oil and use that to start it then repeat the process. so Everytime I make a batch of oil instead of starting with fresh oil I am starting with that second run of oil from the last batch which seems to give me a better high and you can use less oil to get the same effects. Maybe it's just placebo or something but I swear I get a fuller high when I make the oil this way.I use a hotplate cook put it on low and keep it on for 2 days.. then i take a bowl put on gloves put cheesecloth over the bowl and slowly pour and then squeeze it at the end. I know your looking for another way hopefully someone will chime in but for other people who are reading this post in the future this might help.
Oh when I make my oil I make it with water added so when I put my oil to solidify alot of that kinda stuff gets seperated out and I've never had any super bad taste the water is usually a super dark color but the oil is a light greenI've used my French press coffee maker with butter before, it worked... you don't want to squeeze too much because then you squeeze the chlorophyll out and it tastes grassy... cheese cloth is tried and true, or a fine mesh filter. I usually put cheesecloth over a metal colander and just let it sit till it's done dripping then give it one good squeeze. Even a reusable coffee filter and a potato masher would probably work... that's just my MacGyver brain coming up with random shit though, haven't tried that one.Every method is gonna be messy, so just accept it. I usually just use cheesecloth and rub the excess into my skin to try and get stoned via osmosis.
