ok, ive been using soil for about a yr an a half now. I recently started noticing i have a powdery mildew issue! I have a dehumidifier that keeps the humidity down to 45%. I have sprayed with various chemicals an soaps to kill the mildew it still comes back in a matter of days. Ive been reading up on uv lights that kill all the mold spores in the air an that live on the plants. Anyone have any advice on how i should go about using uv lights, and where i could purchase them at?

how would i use the sulpher burner? is there a set amount to how much you use? will it make my house smell like shit? oh and the plants are five weeks in will that cause problems with the bud taste?

ya u cant use in flower. neither of the above. i would pluck any heavy damaged leaves

sulfur is very poisonous, don't burn IMO (period) let alone in flower, some people like convenience...don't ever smoke anything from someone who uses it during flower. you can kill your plants and yourself using it.

the only place success comes before work is in the dictionary.

you get mildew because you don't have enough air movement (they land on your plants) and once you see it, there are a billion more spores actively floating in your room/home. once you see them they are a week into growth on have multiplied and may be in the plant spreading too. if you have any on your flowers, its up to you, but I would spray them (so you dont knock more off and spread more spores), cut them and bag tightly/thro them away. you DO NOT want to SMOKE mildew.

here are some options for you. (i would do filter and spray at a minimum)

1. (easiest and cheapest) you can spray skim milk diluted with water 4:1 on plants. The purpose is to change the surface PH so that mildew doesn't have an suitable environment that will allow spores to grow. You can spray this all the way thru flower. Milk is harmless. drench them during lights off. get a nice wand so you can spray the undersides too. do it every few days or week. find your own sweet spot.

1a. Spray Neem Oil, (You should be doing this already anyway) does the same thing and will your plants love the nutrients from this. spray every 3 days or so, use a mister/atomizer. You can spray this all the way thru flower too, but I would stop at least a week from flushing.

1b. Spray any other foliar product, be careful to follow instructions thru growth stages tho.

2. you can scrub the air with a HEPA filter for spores. the filters are very thick, you will need a strong fan to push or pull thru it. if you vent your room, use this in the vent...if you are closed/sealed place in room with fan always on.

3. UV sterilizer, kills spores as they pass thru the light. Ionic Breezes and the like have UV lights in them that can work. $80+. pay attention to sq. ft., etc.

Here is a cheap $210 - all-in-one HEPA/UV System, up to 650 sq. ft. . I am not a big fan of the ionic, I have my reasons.

After you have used the vaporizer how is what is deposited on the plant poisonous? From what studies did your info come from? There is a lot of food in stores from greenhouses where this is a norm practice. JK
