Im interested.totally agree.I've experimented with uvb reptile bulbs,and a uvb small t5 with ballast.came from an aquarium shop.started at last two weeks.then from last three weeks.then right through bloom.ive had many discussions,and lots of arguments about it....but,proof is in the pudding,so to speak...resin content goes through the roof.ive even found golden coloured sap,leaking from buds.....i agree with the time window,after stretch,switch them on...hope you get similar results.ive gotta get a new bulb for my uv t5 ballast.

Youll notice none of this has to do with weed... i prefer biology over weed bibles.. some of the biggest changes are the chemical make up of a trich.... not just weight or %

You can supplement any light with uvb bulbs. Mh,hps,cmh,led,plasma...you name it.. some of the new technology is getting nice and low in nanometers but its cheap and easy to drop some uv bulbs in a grow.Thats really awesome! Biology is great. I vote for great cannabis, if this is real I'm down. Its not just led though right?
It's just a cheap Chinese made CoB from led light plant, the 64pc kind. The UV Chips on the CoB are dark and look like they are burnt out but I was assured that those were the UV components.Totally! the colors are so spectral, green is such a boring color in comparison. can you share the make and model of the UV Led Cob you use? I've personally been having a hard time finding any information on uv led lights.
how's the uva to uvb ratio? any information would be greatly appreciated.
mate,no one believes uvb makes a difference,some people really seem to get pissed off at the mention of such a thing.im no scientist bro,but I do like to test stuff out,side by sides.not once.but really do a good few runs,same soil,same pots,same cuts...all I can say is try it out pal.i personally have had really promising results.im not using my uvb strip at the moment,as I've broke the bulb.plus I'm testing out two new 315 cmh lights,took down my leds.want to see a few runs with no supplement lighting..really,really happy so far.next test....cmh,plus uvb, then maybe some red ,far red leds too..hope you give it a go yourself mate.good luck.I would be nice if there were lab results with all this to show if its BS or not. The cool thing about cmh is that it gets pretty close to ultraviolet-B... stand alone.. just imagine if we add more. To go into your last questions a bit... heres another good article on the purpose of trichs and the secondary plant metabolites the trich holds. In general its thought that photosynthesis or your photo system 1 and 2 and your chlorophyll a and b are for growth and the trich is a defense mechanism secreted for survival.i bet it doesn't work lol would be nice though

i read somewhere that not enough uva, the uvb will burn your plants, or if the visual spectrum wasn't bright enough the uv would burn the plants, maybe there is this perfect symbiotic spectrum cocktail waiting to be discovered, unlocking potenial in the plant itself. mix it was all about ratio, don't quote me on that.
i feel confident that the uv is burning my plants chlorophyll to the point where there in no green left except under the resin.

I know all plants have to photosynthesize to create food or glucose, also using that in respiration. But does the THC metabolic pathway need energy (made from glucose?Is ATP used in synthesizing THC, I know enzymes must be used. Is energy or ATP needed to synthesize these THC making enzymes? If yes then how does the energy synthesize these enzymes? If the cannabis somehow had no energy in the form of ATP, and it could still survive would it be able to produce THC. Please help.

I've spoken with some LED vendors about this ... One suggested they left blank areas where you could mount 'lizard lamps' to add a UV components when I spoke to them at the Emerald Cup. Youll like this read brotha... it goes into what uva does for uvbI came across this vendor in my research - I chuckled out loud (LOL?) however I get where they seem to be wanting to go. Silicon sources for shorter than about 400nm or so are expensive or not practical and terribly narrow-band. If you read into the reference I provided you may notice that there is a necessary relationship between UVA and UVB, the upshot of which is the ratio of UVA to UVB should be about 1:10 or so to allow reactivation of compounds damaged by the UVB exposure. Lizard lamps mimic this ratio more closely than other sources I've found practical to apply in my situation.

I came around to this from a long road. First, I'm of mainly nordic extraction and burned like paper when I was a kid. Second degree burns from a day at Newport Beach. That left an impression. A bit later, around 1982 I worked as an electrician on industrial UV treatment systems for sewage plants. I built and installed the lamp racks that would irradiate the teflon tubes the sewage effluent would pass though for treatment - Also note that these were germicidal spectrum (280nm) and capable of burning like a welding arc. While fixing a bad connection with lamps installed, UV bounced off the inside of my safety glasses (plastic, normally blocking but lacking good side guards) and into my eyes. That got a few laughs in the shop and at home where my roommate moved furniture while I recovered with my eyes bandaged. Later that year, I built a prototype UV meter for the project engineer (his design, I just soldered the thing together). I've watched the UV industry and applications for UV ever since. But I am a bit more careful about exposure... I think any sticky on UV should have some content of that sort. Just Sayin.
