same type of light or what? didn't find any uv spec in the url that you posted. holla back :)It's just a cheap Chinese made CoB from led light plant, the 64pc kind. The UV Chips on the CoB are dark and look like they are burnt out but I was assured that those were the UV components.

This chart is very useful.. if you understand what its saying hahaha. At sun rise and sun set the photons have to shoot through the side of the atmosphere and this blocks a lot of light due to particles and water (clouds) in the atmosphere. At around noon it is shooting straight down onto the surface of the earth and that is where the atmosphere is the thinnest. This is why we see our highest uv index around noon.great info, that site help me understand a lot of unknowns thank you. :)

Just trying to spread the knowledge bro. Were all in this game together so if i can shorten someone's learning curve im all for it. Some(like myself) took years and lots of biology, thermodynamics and physics to figure some things out. To go into your last questions a bit... heres another good article on the purpose of trichs and the secondary plant metabolites the trich holds. In general its thought that photosynthesis or your photo system 1 and 2 and your chlorophyll a and b are for growth and the trich is a defense mechanism secreted for survival.

Every green plant uses photosynthesis to make all plant matter including thc. If you are having problems with light green plants under uv light then you need to up the ppm of the calmag+ additive. 6ml per gal seems to be my sweet spot under my full spectrum CoB, more may be needed for a stronger light ormore of it, Uv lights make every plant mag hungry and if you are in coco you also need extra iron.

You dont cut a plant filled with chlorophyll because its not ripe... just like many fruits we eat. The act of ripening brings out anthocyanins and this peaks antioxidants.Based on analyses of EST databases, it has been suggested that trichomes operate mostly as a self-supporting system [9] and have highly active biochemical pathways for both primary and secondary metabolism [9].

to me this paragraph (i hope i'm not paraphrasing) means that you can't have one without the other.
i cut down my plants because the leaves were all used up and there was no chlorophyll producing carbon atoms. i guess that was the right move considering carbon imported from the tissues below the trichome cannot be excluded which means to me if there is no carbon being produced by fan leaves the fixed atom in the trichome can't complete it's task in producing sugars. . . any thoughts or are we all on the same page?
then why let the leaves on your plants wither away at the end of the harvest instead of letting her produce photosynthesis at an optimal rate???

I was just looking today for cob led white full spectrum and the only thing I found was a shop light, 6400k. it sounded ok for veg. where are vou finding yours buddy?
