i started subcools querkle about 2-1/2 weeks ago(the beans popped out of the soil 2-1/2 wks ago). they are on there 3rd set of true leaves, but are only four inches tall! even more confussing is that the 2nd and 3rd set of leaves are smaller than the 1rst set. im always growing white widow & sour deisel (two favs), and they are much faster than this. is querkle just a real slow strain or do i have a bad pheno? please, any help would be great!
thanks for the help Dr.D

I have only grown Querkle from clones, however, I have noted that it has an EXTREMELY slow veg time. This is likely due to the Urkle lineage. However, you'll be pleased to know that it doesn't really stretch much in flower at all. The final veg height will be the approximate flower height (especially if you give it a little bushmaster), in my experience.

thanks man. wasnt really sure. one of my buddy,s told me the same thing, but he never grew the strain. thanks again

since you have grown the querkle strain before, do you have any advice on how to grow her? do you know if she yeilds more topped or left natural?

Very true what the OP's are saying. That strain is not meant to be a big yeilder, it is meant for quality not quantity. If you veg the hell out of it, you will get better yeilds of course.
Some plants in my garden I keep seperate for that reason. I have a really slow growing Black berry that takes forever to veg. I usually have the slow veggers in veg twice as long as the others.

thanks smokey, i just didnt know if topping her would yeild any better or not. thanks man

I topped/fimmed at the third node giving some nice branching characteristics (3 main tops). I highly recommend doing this and maybe even topping the branches when they get longer. It's a really bushy, dense plant and whenever I put one into flower, I usually trim a ton of the fan leaves off and strip off a lot of the branches. It recovers about a week into flower and looks magnificent. I used 1ml Bushmaster the day I flipped to 12/12, if you're curious.

It all depends on the pheno I guess. I can't be happier with my Querk. 7 days in the cloner, 30 days 24 hr. Veg & 60 days in flower yield me 3.5-4 zips per plant. It's a pretty fast grower in veg compared to the Urkle mom. I'm running both Querkle & Urkle right now. I'm a sucker for this plant. I ordered my beans last summer & I'm on my 6 th generation in flower right now. It's the dankest sweetest best tasting smoke I've ever had.

Querkle day 39 12/12

This is a monster bitch! She is really packing on the weight at day 39 of 12/12. Shes under 1000k HPS & I'm running Advanced nutrients full line on her & all her sisters. She was topped at the 4th node and LST with string and super cropped as well.

Leave her natural, she gets frosty as hell and smells great. I vegged her for 6 weeks and I pulled 5oz off of her under a 1k watt. Super dense buds and tons of sugar leaves for baking. She gave me pm problems, she grows TONS of foliage, I would reccomend you trim her lightly during flower to let airflow in. Good luck

She's been my favorite strain out of SSH, Sour Cream, Blue Venom, THC Bomb, & a few others that have all gone on the way side. I disagree on the above statement. I think it yields more topped & grown into a bush with multiple tops. I've grown her both ways & the bush yields more.
