Cost conscious design doesn't have a proper Defrost function. Or it's just to small for what you're asking it to do.
How big is the Bucket??

Tell me it has a frost sensor?

I'm betting way to small for the job.

It’s a tiny little $20 unit I threw in our 20x20 garage where my 4x4 tent is just to see if this thing even worked.

it only removes about a mouth full of water a day. I’m not sure if it lowers the humidity level any. I highly doubt it.

So, frost is bad? I should just unplug it.

Maybe it’ll be decent in the tent when the plants are flowering. Not that I’d need it with my air movement

Honestly in my 10x7 I run a 70 pint and work well for me but really the best way is to look how much water per day you are feeding the plants. Because 90-95% of that will be put into the air by the plants... so if feeding 5 gal per day you will need a 50 pint.. min to to the job. Then you need to account for any extra that is from the environment

What’s a dangerous humidity level as far as black mold and stuff? My lung room stays around 45-55%.

plants get a gallon every 2 days. 4 plants.

plus the humidifier is a gallon a day.

Dehumidifier says it’s .85 pints per day. So about 100x too small. Wow

Have you actually measured what it captures? I bet it's not.

Black mold I'm pretty sure doesn't need much. See here is the thing... when it dries out it spreads spores and then damp thise spores germinate.... so a fluctuating RH is more problematic.

Now this is important because at lights out temp drops will shoot the humidity up and the smaller dehumidifier is not going to keep up so you either need a larger one or you need to slow that temp drop a lot .

It’s ran for 4 days and caught maybe 3-400ml. Pretty sad.

that’s good to know about the humidity. Thanks. I hope the lung room is ok. Tent has been fine so far with tons of air movement
