Wow bro, How I wish you were my next door neighbor lol. That was some serious knowledge. I had no Idea so much could be saved and done with a system like this. I'm going to try to make it happen next week with at least one room, and if all is well I will def do the second. Thanks so much for all the help and info.

Water chilling is best used when it is fully integrated into your op. If you have two bloom rooms, plumb them both, then run them on the flip. One chiller cools both rooms, with a quarter to half the BTu output of the AC you'd need. A flip setup is where water chilling really shines, because one unit can be plumbed to cool multiple spaces.

I forgot- you said you wanted some pics;
1. Chiller coil in RDWC bucket; keeps the system within a couple of degrees of chiller circuit temp
2. Insulated 55 gallon drum reservoir, with about 40 gallons of fresh water in it. This is NOT nutrient water (always a bad idea!), and it never mixes with any water plants will see.
3. Manifolds have 3/4" inlet, six 1/2" outlets to each individual circuit. One circuit runs one coil in a bucket, or one Icebox heat exchanger. The other manifold collects them back together. Valves allow me to isolate a circuit for service without taking the whole chilling system offline(!)
4. 1/2hp Flotec water pump under the res so it's always primed. Main outlet is 1", this goes to a tee fitting to two 3/4" outlets. Always start with the largest size closest to the pump and step down evenly.
5. (Sideways) cooling stack w/ muffin fan on top, blowing hot room air down through an 8" icebox (any radiator or heater core is fundamentally similar), and then down the ducting to a tub to catch the water dripping from the icebox. Thus, the system handles temp and RH simultaneously, with the same unit. Total floor space required? One Homer buckets' worth.
6. 2 Ton ChillKing unit; sitting in a window, looking like the window mount AC it is- at least on the outside!

Did the ranco thermostat come with the chillking, or is that an add-on?

I know it's August, but I haul that chiller inside every winter and it heats my whole house, no bullshit. Last winter's total furnace time amounted to 30 minutes, once... The way I figure it, I'm paying for that heat- and I'm paying to move it out of my grow room, so I might as well get some use out of it somewhere!

Ok so, the Ice box thing was confusing me, last night I went on hydro innovations site and got it all figured out. I like to spend as much time growing and as little fucking off but I dont know how I let this get past me. My partner is stoked, big trim weekend, then a room super clean, and onto water cooling. Will add some pics if time allows. Thanks ttystikk and maninwoodseh lol. Spelling that wrong I'm sure.

The more deets you can give me, the better use I can be. There are a zillion little things that done properly help things run themselves- done poorly, they'll be a never-ending headache.

'Woodsmaneh' ...cuz he's a Canuck! (Hoping that's a term of endearment and not an obscure slur!)

Did the eh in woodsmaneh give away the Canadian part :D Not sure if Canuk is derogatory to our brethren in the north. The thing is I dont have two flower rooms at the moment. I will have another 4x8 tent with 3 1000's in it as soon as temps drop. Right now I have a flower room with 7K and a veg-clone-auto flower room with I think 7 or 8K So one would be one for twice as long. What do you use to scrub photos for posting on here??? I know I should be searching the forum for these stupid ass questions but I'm stacked on work for the next few days. Right now is Redbull/Afghani Haze 33 morning time:)

The site automatically scrubs photos, that's why you have to do it directly, no photobucket.

Yeah, they've done a good job with site functionality here. Still, it's up to you to make sure photos you upload don't have your mugshot, house number or license plate!

First off THANK YOU for all the specific, clear information that you kick around this site, while i appreciate the massive amount of knowledge that flows here so much of it is "here's how i rigged it for me" and does not really get to the 'do this ~ here's why' part of the lesson. Also i can't help but like the fact that your a fellow Colorado grower, because nothing else even comes close to actually growing in Colorado, our conditions like everyone are unique, out water is so good here in Boulder that tap feed plants often beat up on the Filter watered ones,..........hell we pull 65ppm water out of the Tallboy filters and off to the races!

I hope you can give this one a shot i'm busy reconfiguring my space from one sealed 10x12 room into two,......and want to run it flip style with 4k on each side, the limiting factor has been my summertime day time temps as i have been running 4x1k in the room with the lights vented in a loop,......temps hang at 83F during the lights on cycle if i run them at night. Nowi've upgraded the lights to a 2 light loop with a fresh air intake to each of the pair of lights, as i'm sure your quite aware the night time air temps here are very rarely above 75F so this has worked very well ~ But i'm going back to my 8gl bucket UC setup with 18 buckets under the 4k and will be running a chiller for the UC, since i never needed to run AC in the space im wondering what thoughts you might have reguarding a setup where the temps were so vastly different on an AM/PM shift. my biggest concern is keeping that second room below 85F in the day time half of the flip, mostly i guess i'm worried about the temps of the room getting additional day time summer heated air to vent the hoods and the needs for a chiller strategy to beat it.

My set up ideas so far are to use a 50 galon barrel to hold water that is chilled directly by the 1/4hp chiller ( i was thinking of holding it in the mid fifties but now wonder if thats too cold...) and hold the UC nutes at 'temp' using a 25' or 50' SS coil run to the epicenter, i'm thinking i would need some kind of therm or temp switch to turn on the pump when the UC nutes got above 65F and circulate the cold water in the coil back into the UC to 're-chill' the nute water,......The main reason i wanted to run that 50 gl bucket at such a low temp is i wanted to use another SS coil to chill an ICEBOX type of chiller and cool the air directly but a) i'm not sure how many ICEBOX units i could run in a loop this way
b) what real effect the ICEBOX units would have on the RH in the room
c) or if a strategy exists to cut out the venting of the hoods and use the chiller to completely cool the space,......( i understand the need for a much larger chiller for anything more elaborate than chilling a 50 gl bucket and SS coils)

Thanks again any input would be very appreciated, and keep up the good work! I'e lurked around a few of your threads and you really do have some fine genetics, and great technique representing the Emerald Rectangle!

What you're asking for here is a lot more than I can reasonably answer in short essay format. One thing to consider now is that 1/4 ton of chilling- cooling in any form, really- is really not up to the job of anything more than maintaining water temps in a reasonably well insulated environment. It cannot deal with an active heat load; it's just too small.
