Don't worry about whether the pots are heavy when it comes time to cut. There is no impact to the plants' quality due to this. The bud content doesn't vary over the course of the day, or in immediate response to normal watering and feeding.
My advice is don't get wrapped up in this. If you're close to harvest, just quit feeding the plant, water as needed until it's time to cut. "Flushing", per se, does nothing. Despite the myth, there are no "excess" nutes in your plant, and flushing doesn't remove anything.
My opinion? Plants don't need to flush at all. The science is clear; flushing does nothing except reduce additional nutes available in the soil. Most people who believe in flushing do it for a week, maybe two. Thanks bossman and I understand what your saying. One last question and it might be stupid but how long does a plant need to flush for?? Thanks again
I concur. Flushing is sort of an urban legend, and like any good urban legend, there will be many who swear by it. I have never flushed anything in over 3 decades of growing, except my 1st grow, when I overfertilized...the classic rookie's mistake! Some say that flavor is impacted, or that it is too harsh, but I've never noticed any real difference. If it is floating in a pool of chemicals, I might feed it water only for a few days, but for most applications, I don't see any benefit. This is only my opinion. I also think nutrients are way overused and made a lot more complicated than it needs to be, but that is an argument for another day.My opinion? Plants don't need to flush at all. The science is clear; flushing does nothing except reduce additional nutes available in the soil. Most people who believe in flushing do it for a week, maybe two.
