I don't remember how well that worked.
I know. I'm still wondering about how much spectrum changes matter as compared to a typical full spectrum grow light. Specifically, I'm not suggesting it doesn't make a difference. I wonder if the difference matters. I'm not sure I'd fret over a few grams per plant.I’m just talking about the spectrum itself. As long as the Earth is moving, it’s changing! Less along the equator, more as you get farther away. The OP just stated that the spectrum doesn’t change! Above! It’s not important! You deal with it! But it has a huge effect on how plants grow!

Very tur cloudy days have a huge effect as well. Sometimes think people are over thinking it!Yep! Outdoors of the light spectrum is constantly changing! Angles are not constant! When it comes to this!
They work ok! and this was the old lights. These are 40% better!Now, let’s see what you can do with that light!
I said HUGE difference though they see some difference sure. The problem is most people don't know what the origin of their plant is any way. It would seem best to match your strain to it's origin NOT just a random light spectrum. If it is from near the equator it sees little to no change in spectrum. Now consider the hybrid aspect and it gets complicated. I guess you could experiment with 2 clones and grow under the two extremes. The over rated component i was referring to is I bet each way would produce similar results though if you are right you may add some weight. The problem is we end up with more than we can use and I told my son I would help but no selling. We give away a lot to friends for sure but no selling! We aren't growing commercially any way. I am making a whole different set for the flowering part of the grow but not sure it will be THAT big a deal. Personally I have found that if you have enough light and humidity feeding is the part that makes a huge difference more than spectrum one way or the other and this is true of all plants. Good and bad to each, indoors means less yield and outdoors has bugs, too much rain, and neighbors. Though we bribed ours with a gift pack. Backyard seems to have a skunk or two!I hear you! I think the variables are what makes it fun! I only grow outdoors! So I am stuck with the spectrum where I live! But I learned the hard way about azimuths! Nothing quite like full sun all summer and then shade about the second week of September to fuck up your spectrum! L O L!
A shelf with lights tied to it is ALL it is. When I worked in the lighting factory all we did was take a sheet metal piece secure a ballast, wire the ballast to the sockets and mount, put a cord on it, and add a cover over the ballast and wires. Light fixtures are not that complicated. I provided pics of the supplies and the finished product and explained the process. If someone cannot figure it out from there they shouldn't attempt to build this in the first place.That's great. I'm sure the weed was fantastic. I bet you're a great botanist. The point of the post was a nice grow setup for cheap, or at least I thought that's what the title implied. You could have showed some better pictures of the setup. The itemized pictures are a nice touch but all I can really see is a shelf with some tube lights tied to it. I bet it's great I just would have liked to see more.
