Who thinks this guy is funny? Really stupid IMO. Why he brings race into is kind of pathetic.

His point is more blacks are harassed, arrested than whites....
Racial profiling is real....

Well he's right. Minorities are 10 times more likely to get charged and locked up over a drug crime even though white people use just as much. Its a fact jack!

It may be a fact, but why is everything racist? Race has nothing to do with the law, it may however have something to do with how the law is enforced. IMO, it doesn't matter if your white, black, brown or yellow, nobody should be in jail because of pot. That is more uniting IMO.

Because some people are ignorant lead astray by fear and misunderstanding ...we all are members of the humane race...

It has everything to do with racism. And control and greed...

Three words...Asset forteiture laws. Yes, control and greed. Control? Try depositing 10K (I believe they've even modified it now for as little as 5K) into your bank account without being reported to the Federal government.
that's why there is the Bank of the woods..
5 gallon bucket buried deep, just do not forget where it's deposited....

I know all about forfeiture laws, and people that grow pot knew about them long before it was cool to talk about. Didn't see what you quoted on me, came up blank. I also agree, control. I believe that 90% of the things people think are racist, are more about control than they would like to think. One in the same I guess.

Try to deposit 8k several times, doesn't have to be over 10k anymore

Chickenman - 8"pvc pipe works well too.

Yea, I get that is how they sold it. Show me where the law itself is racist.

Show me where the law itself says black people will be arrested at a higher rate? Obviously you can't because the law itself is not racist, period. It is the implementation of the law, and who law enforcement officials choose to arrest. The same could be said about J-walking.

Going back to my original point, it doesn't matter if your white or black, nobody should be in jail for cannabis. For Maher to bring race into it seemed divisive to me.

Three Strike laws specifically target the poor (read: minorities). Think about it. Money buys freedom in the US. How many cases do we see where rich little Johnny gets off from his drug conviction because "Daddy" was able to retain a powerful attorney whereas the poor schmuck that got caught with a dime bag on the corner out in West Oakland can only afford a public defender? Get two drug convictions under your belt in some states and your third conviction wins you a permanent stay at the "Incarceration Inn".

So now your saying the three strikes law is racist, yet I would argue yet again the implantation of the law is what's racist. Also, white people are not the only ones that can afford good lawyers and get away with major crimes. Remember OJ? People see race, I see money and power. White's just seem to have most of the money and power at the moment, in the USA.

I am saying that. I grew up dirt poor myself living in the ghetto/barrio of the East Bay (Varrio Grande Decoto Esse! :) ). My observations over the years regarding law enforcement and minorities was formed by direct experiences. These laws target the economically disadvantaged which typically translates to minorities in the US.

More like you dismiss the facts to make your point of view. You just want to argue. So what if its not written in. Its doing exactly what its designed to do by the RACISTS FUCKS it was written by!

I have been robbed three times, all by blacks. Would it be fair to say that all blacks rob people because my personal experience has shown that? Lets not be ridiculous.

I guess I am happy that in a world before America racism was out of control. Through the history of America racism has been a major issue and has been trampled over time. Just in the 1955 Emmett Till was killed for flirting with a white woman. Now we are debating if laws are racist. America has really written the book on stamping out racism, and I am proud to be part of it. If one looks around the world right now, people are literally being crucified, burned alive and beheaded. I am very greatfull that when I walk to the store the only thing I have to worry about is what kind of milk to buy, and same with a white, black or brown person. America is great. IMO.

Ok, I guess your not willing to have a civil conversation about this. Have a great day brother.
