Because some people are ignorant lead astray by fear and misunderstanding ...we all are members of the humane race...It may be a fact, but why is everything racist? Race has nothing to do with the law, it may however have something to do with how the law is enforced. IMO, it doesn't matter if your white, black, brown or yellow, nobody should be in jail because of pot. That is more uniting IMO.
It has everything to do with racism. And control and greed...

The law does?
that's why there is the Bank of the woods..Three words...Asset forteiture laws. Yes, control and greed. Control? Try depositing 10K (I believe they've even modified it now for as little as 5K) into your bank account without being reported to the Federal government.
Yea, I get that is how they sold it. Show me where the law itself is racist.
I am saying that. I grew up dirt poor myself living in the ghetto/barrio of the East Bay (Varrio Grande Decoto Esse! :) ). My observations over the years regarding law enforcement and minorities was formed by direct experiences. These laws target the economically disadvantaged which typically translates to minorities in the US.So now your saying the three strikes law is racist, yet I would argue yet again the implantation of the law is what's racist. Also, white people are not the only ones that can afford good lawyers and get away with major crimes. Remember OJ? People see race, I see money and power. White's just seem to have most of the money and power at the moment, in the USA.

Show me where the law itself says black people will be arrested at a higher rate? Obviously you can't because the law itself is not racist, period. It is the implementation of the law, and who law enforcement officials choose to arrest. The same could be said about J-walking.
Going back to my original point, it doesn't matter if your white or black, nobody should be in jail for cannabis. For Maher to bring race into it seemed divisive to me.
