Just saw where weld county takes the position that it is federally illegal and they will prosecute for any amount.
Not sure how they can get around the state constitution?

Just like care giving. Enough non convictions with arrests will change that. I saw on the news Boulder was trying to hold off mj businesses. GOOD LUCK The nah sayers lost they need to get over it and abide by the new laws. I don't drink alcohol at all and I put up with it everywhere I go time to reciprocate. The counties that fight are just gonna continue to clog the legal system with bullshit.

It's like A20's overshadowing of 1284. 64....like 1284.... allows every city/town/county the power to regulate or ban completely the business side of the equation.... but they cannot deny the rights the Amendment provides each citizen on an individual basis to grow and possess in their homes.

and let's not forget that the new laws are not yet LAWS. Any or all of it could be challenged or wiped away by Hickenbrewer. You can BET the Feds are in his ear LOUDLY right now.

Even if he signs it it will be awhile before anything is formalized re the regulatory recommendations of the "Panel of experts" (clowns)....and then it will have to be masturbated upon by each politician....tax rates set...sales limitations set...for resident/for anyone language/status set....etc..etc..etc...all of which takes multiple sessions of the State legislature to fuck up..'er..vote in just before the Fed tells them they cannot do any of it....

let's hope we at least walk away with the individual nod. Fuck the biz side of it if it places the rights of >all< in jeopardy.

From what I understand...Hickeybrewer has til Jan 6th to alter/sign this legislation.....or it becomes law automatically.

It's gonna be interesting to see where this all goes...

Not true. If amendment of the people or referred to the people cannot be vetoed by the Governor. It's in the Constitution, not the amendments.
He would have to declare the whole elections fraudulent!
We could pass a 'butter side down' amendment in this state and he couldn't do shit about it!

First prosecution that goes to trial in Weld is going to change that stance.
And anyone that gets possession post Nov 6th should take it to court. That whole DA's stance on it's not yet law, we have money to rape out of the people, won't hold up long either. Even though not formally 'proclaimed', he did get on TV the next day and say 'this is the way the people have voted'. Even in the most anti counties it was closer to 50-50 than 8-92, and twelve people sit on a jury!

Yeah, Feds are waiting, watching. But there are plenty of people who think they're going to be the next AB, SAP-Miller, Pfizer or Phillip Morris.

And if these guys need these big warehouses to fill the med side of it, less than 2% the adult population...Just think how big they are going to go when they have 100% of the population to think about.

Fuck Weld County. Disregarding a fair vote should be a crime.

Considering 54.8% voted for 64, good luck finding a jury that's going to convict someone for what's currently legal.

I hope the bastards get sued by the 1st person to have charges pressed against them by those d-bags.

Well gang its December 6th and I just had my first toke and some how it tastes different. Legal???? Hmmm.... Don't think I can put a Ganga Medics sign on my garage door but I feel just a little bit more free than yesterday.

Fuck Ken Buck and weld county. If he keeps fucking around he is going to loose his kussy little job. Remember, the will of the people will ultimately win. Somebody needs to tell that idiot he works for us.

Think if Ken Buck was Governor, oh, the irony! I was happy when he lost that race two years ago, but part of me would love to see him squirm over Amendment 64...

I think the actual Date is Jan. 6th, not Dec. 6th, but I could be wrong......

Sorry, thought the law went into effect 30 days after the election.

Bud, remember how Bucks big mouth got him in trouble in that election. Hoping he does the same thing again.

What about the fact that there is dry countys where you cant buy alcohol. Wouldnt since its for recreational give them more power to band it. If its medical im guessing your legal right is more solid. Saying you cant have recreational pot is like having a dry county with no alcohol, or no strip clubs, no porn shops, no bars, ect. Which countys and citys do. Im not defending them just saying they may find a way to still go after people.

Yup, I'm sure the state/counties will come up with all sorts of regulations on when and where pot shops can operate. But I think you will be able to smoke/grow in the privacy of your own home without fear of the state and hopefully if you aren't stupid...the feds as well.

Jus' funnin' with ya, put... The law was sent to the Gov yesterday and he now has 30 days to sign it or not...either way...it is law Jan 6th.

But hey...you aren't alone. Check craigslist and you'll already see folks who are selling saying that it's legal to buy it right now...card or no card.

Nevermind it's never been legal to sell...and A64 did nothing to change that fact.

Had to step back...then laugh at yer mention of "Vern Miller". Grew up in KC and remember well the tirade he went on for years against drug use in the area. Do ya happen to remember when they were carrying out a huge Metro-wide bust and the radio station was alerting everyone that "the long arm of the law is raiding houses in _________(insert town). Mighta been the old KUDL-FM....but heads rolled for trying to tip peeps off the raids were goin down.
Ah///memories......

Wichita, goes in your blank. Remember the night well. My supplier knew they were coming and had NOTHING in the house when they raided him. They arrested him anyway on a joint he sold to a narc. He spent 2 yrs for that. No probation had to do the whole time, was never the same after. He was targeted and they got him good.

It will be a county to county/city to city decision purpleberry....because all munis/etc have the right to ban the commercial side of A64....just as they had the right to ban any/all commercial MMJ operations under 1284.

Dunno what others are seeing...but ALL of the talk I'm seeing isn't that anyone/everyone will get a license to produce/sell. As stated in 64....the nod for licensing is being given to the MED Centers first.....and the common belief I'm seeing is that most towns who opted out on MMJ will also opt out of Rec pot sales....and those who allowed MMJ sales will likely NOT allow more retail sites than the expansion that is needed by the EXISTING MMJ shops to allow them to sell to both sides. (can't sell MMJ and Rec pot in the same store)

By design the number of stores could double overnight....but beyond that..it is yet to be seen if the State will simply sell shit tons of licenses and let the local bans/regulations...as well as the general supply and demand needed "weed" out the excess businesses....or if the MMJ Centers will lock this up tight as they did in the last State-mandated monopoly.

IMO....lotsa folks poising to play are gonna be disappointed....again. Lotsa.

As far as ways to go after people.... I fear we may see massive changes and requirements for many of the things we once took for granted. Car insurance...Health insurance...employment issues...the fabled >nano< limits..... withholding of Fed highway funds.... the list goes on and on of the ways we can be held responsible for this "freedom" indirectly should there be a move by the Fed or by private industry in that direction rather than a full on frontal assault against sales/use/etc.

Like I said from the start. there will not be any retail shops for recreation until it's off schedule 1 status.
Feds are issuing notice today in the washington western district that state laws change nothing.

There was a hearing finally granted to take into consideration rescheduling this last October.
We will hear a decision from that in 9 months to a year and if it's rescheduled then yes it's wide open for retail in colorado and washington.
Even if they knock it down to schedule 2 then that would mean that every doctor in the country could prescribe it. The feds don't want that because then it's nationwide. and to take it totally off the controlled substance act after it was on the most dangerous category? yeah right.

Lotsa dumbasses runnin around saying they are going to open up a weed store.
With the current schedling you would have a better chance opening up a opium den or oxy store.
The feds will not back down on this and they have supreme court rulings to back it up.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gonzales_v._Raich

Then they will play the pass the buck game and state that the world wide treaties we are involved in prohibit any country from legalizing.

Long drawn out fight for sure.

Here is a guy that was following all state laws for medical MJ.
The feds found him guilty in september and in January he will be sentenced to a MINIMUM of 80 years.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/rebecca-richman-cohen/medical-marijuana-montana_b_2095609.html

If this does not drive home the point of just how hardcore they are against schedule one substance nothing will.

But yeah I'm sure the same folks that sentenced this man to death will be cool with a bunch of hippy dippy pot stores in Boulder.

^^^That guy started his own ideological battle with the feds cause he didn't want to take a plea bargain. While I sort of respect that, I would see it as a greater act of defiance to do anything it takes to get out of the law's stranglehold (including a plea bargain), and then to just start growing again immediately.

Plus, at the rate things are changing, he won't do more than 10 years...

Green, I believe that one of the guys that was involved in that case as a co defendant did take a plea deal and it was still 5 years.

Why do you say he will only do 10 years. you do know that in fed prison there is no early release or parole you do 90% of the time given. and even so a decade is a long freakin time behind bars.

Feds are so stoked. These new laws give the state and feds so much power to prosecute. Its pretty obvious.
