This 50 day old female plant (auto flower ) that’s in flowering stage grew sack looking nodes. It looks like stamen is coming out. They are on the main stem where I cut some leaf stems off. What are they and what do they mean, if anything.
thank you.

yeah, it looks like seed or a male. But the plant is female! The photo of the plant was old. Here it is today.the top flower is still growing (4” long) stamen still straight. It is auto flower; they can behave different. Maybe that’s it. But sex conversion? Naw But I’m a beginner!

I get them on some of my outdoor plants! Don’t know why, but they don’t seem to do any harm!

Thanks. I was hopeful they would grow flowers, even small. Still, kinda weird. Cheers!

Ah, so my flowers may be maturing soon? That’s good insight. Newbie needs to get these hints. Thanks!

Agree! They always seem to dry up and die before the plant finishes in my case.

Those are your first flowers when the plant shows its sex. You definitely have weeks to go. Was there a grow or flower timeline on these for reference? My autos are supposed to be done before now but they are a couple weeks off yet

lol, really or are you all joking?

That is the Bract or Calyx, it holds the female reproductive parts. If your plant does not have this it is not female or you have some bigger issues going on? lol

breeder timelines are vague estimates (often exaggerated for sales) that would only really apply to growing in the breeders dialed in environment.

If your grow environment is not identical to the breeders you can expect timing not to match their estimate

Exactly but gives you a rough estimate. I didn't even think about checking trichomes at the estimated time.

eh, it's not worth much honestly and often is the main cause for people harvesting too early.. 'the breeder said X'

watching the plant is a better indicator imo..

I often see people post 'wk 9,10,etc, breeder said 56 days?'.. then they go on to mention weeks of over/under watering, followed by topping, then some nute issues and the resounding question, why does it seem like my plant isn't ready yet? -- not realizing all those little things add up to stunted time and increase the time until harvest, assuming they even can make it there

Honestly I didn't think about it like that. I just figured it was a general guideline anyway. I guess some garden experience has taught me you have to know how to listen to what the plant is telling you not what's on the packet
