I had a mishap this morning and decapitated one of my lack lustre looking seedlings , so i had a look at the roots and all i am getting is ultra fine hair like roots , btw this is about 10 days old , planted in batmix (coco with guano) with single watering with diluted root juice , is the soil too hot ? it could also have been too dry , when i peeled the jiffy pot away the soil was on the dry side rather than damp , so ive drenched the other one in a seaweed feed and put her out in the sun to see if she picks up

Biggest issues I see are you need to fill the cup to the top, and it needs more light, it's very leggy. The fine roots (root hairs) are what pulls in the nutes, some will develop into larger roots, nothing really odd about that. Could of been a watering issue. Coco should never go dry, if it does it gets hydrophobic.

Initial roots only get thicker after a while and in big pots you can forget about thick white roots unless you give a long veg time and it has nothing to do with the quality of the plant in the end. I also agree with the statements given so far, its very leggy due to lack of light and has very little soil. But maybe too soon to feed it, seedlings dont really need food that early thats why they can grow in any medium (nute buffered or not) with only water.

I wouldnt even give any root booster or kelp or any supplement at all even. I have done more harm than good any time I tried to "help" a seedling what I do give is isolated auxines, which are rooting hormones, that wont bother them if you do a low dosage, or microorganisms.

when the seedling still has full green healthy cotyledons (the smooth little seed leaves), I like to think its redundant to feed the little guy. Those are food storage/protection and can contribute to the seedlings growth for many weeks.
