I moved these 5 week old plants into the bigger tent and accidentally had the 500w light set to 50%.

After the first night they looked like this in the morning so I checked and turned it down to 30% and are getting 325 ppfd and 21 DLI.

What's up with the twisting and cupping? There's fans moving air but nothing blowing directly. Temps are 73-75 high and 65-68 low. Humidity between 55 and 61%.

Hello! That kinda look like deficiency of a building material, but that is of course not possible to occur after just one night, does not look like lightburn either, I'd suggest checkin for physical damage near roots first of all then set the light as it was in the previous room but apparently bigger pot means the plants are not closer to the light as the bigger pots are, well, taller. You might just need to lift the lights a bit higer

It’s very moderate light stress and maybe just a little too much n. But this is your plant I circled the leaf that has on the very tips yellowing And along with that, it’s starting to pull too much mag it happens with these strong leds all the time. The leaf circled is showing the beginning of it. As said above I would raise about 5-6 inches bc your situation on the top of the plant and the level of the damage is negligible. your rig is close to dialed. If your of your light has a dial that isn’t in preset I would kick it down too. That’s just me. Just for reference I set my lights 30-36 in above canopy, at no more than 40% output.

@GNick55 i remember seeing a similar post to this not long ago, and I believe you where helping determine the leaf twist on that topic as well, is this a similar issue to what you saw on that post?

I think it's from overfeeding.... I feel like that makes most logical even starting to get tip burn.... just trying to chime in here

Def could be rich in n, I agree, but I have rolled gelatos that definitely was more genetic as well. It’s just the yellowing is just on the top of the plant, so that’s why I’m on the fence between light proximity and N Rich.
Good eye.

I have a lot of mental pictures locked in from when I was a new grower... I thought more nutes meant bigger yields... I would have leaves mangled just like you do...

Ok that definitely gives me a place to start! Thanks for the advice as always everyone. Trying to learn as much as I can as I go here.

So I guess I'll include a few more details:

Light is hard mounted to the very top of the tent. I prefer moving the pots than adjusting the light as the ratchets don't allow the height I need in flowering. I'm not sure how far from the canopy it is currently, but ppfd/DLI seems right.

Growing organically using bioall 365 amended with Gaia green nutes. I water in microbes with mammoth P, biobizz activera and bioheaven.

These plants are just recovering from being over watered where the pots stayed wet for almost a week, and I allowed them a day or two to dry back.

I top dressed with a small amount of worm castings and myco to help rebuild the soil activity.

I'm using the phone app on an iPhone and it's reading 325 ppfd across the canopy which seems to be about right, but perhaps I didn't allow them to acclimate slowly to the change in light.

I'm imagining the over watering hurt the root zone. Should I consider transplanting from the 2 gal to their final 5 gallon fabric pots?

I'm not familiar with organic feeding but from all that i have a feeling that your nutes are definitely causing the issue... soil is too hot... Im not familiar with growing this way but that's definitely probably causing your issues

From what I understand it's somewhat difficult to overfeed with organics, although maybe possible. The leaf tips are showing some yellowing and there's some small burn spots on the lowest part of the plants

I do have an EC pen, although I'm not sure how to use it for organics.

I fed them 6.3 ph water a day ago and the runoff read 6.0

EC and pH usually aren't important concerns for organic growing.

Do I understand this correctly? The plants were overwatered for about a week, then given two days to dry before they were moved to the second tent. Then they were under 250W light for about a day. A day later the light decreased to 150W, and that's when the leaf curling appeared. What was the light wattage in the first tent?

I'm leaning toward thinking it was the overwatering that caused the curling leaves. Light stress probably didn't help, even though it didn't last long. So, I'm thinking it could be stomata opening to express the excess water that's causing the curling. If that's the case, just let them dry till they're close to wilting.

I allowed them about a week to recover before I moved them but yes. I also topped them the same time I moved tents which in hindsite was probably a mistake but I didnt want to wait much longer.

Wattage in the first tent was an ac Infinity s33 set to 40% around 18in from the canopy

Currently light is an Evo6.

Sounds like you’re doing well and getting good feedback from everyone.

The overwatering detail you mentioned is worth considering. When the soil is completely saturated and there little aeration/ oxygen for the roots, it takes much more time to absorb from my experience depending on what type of pot you have etc…my 5-7 gallon fabric pots are around week sometimes more to dry out in veg, around 3-4 days in flower.

Watch the plant and it will let you know when to water it, minus a day off that time it takes and there you go. Flower stage is different because the plant is thirsty and hungry, schedule biweekly watering seems to work for me. Around 3/4 - 1 gallon slowly watered weekly for veg and same for flowing but 2x weekly for my pot size and environment. I like to see only a few drops to seep at the bottom when watering, potential food leaving the root system, unless you need that to happen of course.

Also the transition time between new grow environments. What I understand is plants like time to adjust in between transitions to the next change of environment or whatever it may be. I use the 3 day rest schedule. When I top the plant for mainline training, I will let the plant rest for 3days before changing anything else. Unless it needs watering or something basic. Same I would do moving a plant into my flower room which is a completely different environment. Needs time to adjust from whatever you’re doing to it.

Overall a little goes a long way with these plants and I think I’m beginning to understand the less I do, the bettter it is going. Especially when it come to feeding and watering. The basic essential.

That is a big jump of a light. I believe you mention your par levels being under 400 range which should be fine for the transition period. I would guess 3-5 days or so.

Your environment stay similar?
