WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GREAT OLD SATIVAS IS IT JUST ME or have breeders dropped the ball were are the sativas that yield 1/2 to 3 lbs of killer smoke indoors to make up for the 12 + weeks with a few more years of this train wreck of connoisseur breeders and there is going to be nothing left for them to F... up we as growers are just as responsible for buying this garbage at over the top prices it just encourages them to keep pumping out this junk i know it makes us feel cool to grow what plastered all over the net and even worse high times you would think that folks who have spent there hole life in the pot seen they would be screaming "STOP !!! this is all wrong we are suppose to be improving

I cant be the only one that thinks this way shit we can breed hairless dogs in Alaska
so if you have a old school sativa (at least 80%) with all the sativa quality's cerebral high great flavor lets have a look maybe high-end breeders can learn a Little from the old school stock

here is my contribution lemon skunk flower time 10 to 11 weeks in hydro 12 to 14 in soil with a 3 week veg she will yield of 8 to 12 oz indoors of tall spiraling Cristal-ed bud with a smooth citrus taste with a hint of spicy lemon smells like a fruity skunk that's been dead for a week
outdoors sky's are the limits theses photo are only week 6 of flower

this tread is not meant to ruffle any ones feathers i just wont every one to think of the possibility's

agree so much about full on sativas
reason i was told is that they just sit on the shelf and everyone wants easy indicas

i have to say this to is bad breeding folks go with the indicas because of there ease and yield this LS is growing in a ebb & grow set up with 100% indicas with no special treatment and she will crush them in yield and taste
and most sativas today you need to be a botanist to get an OZ

Nice flowers you have there caesar.Once you grow a pure sativa you can grow pretty much anything. There are alot of sativas that will give you a great yield.99% of growing a sativa is patience and not trying to overdue it,dont try to force the plant to grow let it grow and it'll let you know when it need a little extra fert. Most dont want to wait 100 -120 plus days to harvest, not to mention another 3 months plus cure, its a big investment in time with no guarantees.Still alot of sativas to be found out there.Ace seeds will always bring the real deal sativas, cant picture them trading in for hyped up strains. It just goes to show how big of an impact the og kush had on the world of weed.peace

I bought all the hyped stuff every time new hyped stuff came out. Along the way I also bought up a lot of great solid breeder sativas too. Every pack of seeds I ever bought was aimed at having a widespread genetic library to be prepared for the great seed pipeline shutdown.

There have been packs of seeds that were uniform and very consistent good potency buds. However, many you still need to find the good phenos in each pack. The long sativas make this a tedious task to some. Combine this with the fact that I still think more people grow outdoors than grow indoors around the world and many need the shorter flowering indicas to make this happen.

I pop a pack of sativas now and then. I do more indoor grows now than I used to. It would be sweet to be able to get killer cuts of sativas like columbian gold, thai, O haze, panama red, dalat, columbian red or whatever but they don't seem to be out there or the people that found them kinda keep to themselves. I did manage to obtain some thai cuts so there is hope.

I have some crosses I want to get too. The Chimera/DJShort Mexican x blueberry has been begging me to try them.

Do the sativa crosses fit the bill for you or do you want straight sativa?

Don't they all. They gotta be at least 65% moisture. Have yet to see buds that didn't shrink when drying. Good luck Caesar and thanks for sharing. Peace GS

I'm doing my best but I'm no breeder nor do i clam to be i just don't have the time to spend months in 3ed world countries or the space to grow out 1000's of seeds but i will keep the old clones i have alive and spread them around when i can i think hoarding is a crime

so growing is the small part that i have. its hard to find a proven male

It is so true and so sad! A whole nation of slackers condemned to couch warming because the popular weeds are all heavy indicas. You must have balance, and sativas are desperately needed right no. But the cattle won't even try them because they don't like the look of a bud that isn't dense enough to use as a hammer. I spent the last year preaching the virtues of Neville's Haze and made some converts but made no money! haha.

I do have one cut, the 1998 cup winning Super Silver Haze that people do love, and pay top dollar for because it grows small and dense buds. Guess that will have to do for now until i find a hazier plant that finishes as fast (55 days) or as heavy (2.5 pounds a light)!

Best we can hope for right now is to get the assholes, I mean the cannabis consumers, to like some hybrids that pack a haze/sativa high in a densely budded package.

It's also when the indy lovers step up and try some pure haze or sativa they find them selves hiding in the house in the tub noided out of their minds lmao. There is nothing like a trippy paranoia sativa to start the day off with. Hey fractal i would guard that ssh with my life 2.5 in 55 thats a dream strain. In 20 years from now thepure sativas and indy's alike will all be worth their weight in gold for pure breeding purposes, everything will be hybrids by then.peace

Indicas are fun, also and they have their place. Romulan, Deep Chunk, and Blockhead are 3 of my favorite varieties and all indica. (BH expresses mostly indica despite that african sativa). And I can't wait to grow out my self made Romulan x Blockhead because that shit is going to be intense.

Some of the sativas I am holding seeds of include:

Bangladesh sativa (Loader's from overgrow)

Highland Nepal x Vietnamese (Reeferman)

Cherry Thai (Reeferman)

Mexican Guerrero x Blueberry (Chimera)

Neville's Haze (MNS)

Phoenix Haze f3 (self made, f2s from JLP. 3/4 Neville's x 1/4 Super Silver Haze)

I didn't say they don't all shrink. I love sativas also but am always disappointed when those huge buds shrink. I have noticed very little shrinking on my abusive OG but of course they aren't huge buds to begin with.

Having said that those buds look nice and dank

southstreets it's all good i was expecting some heated conversion from this post so i may have been a little defensive lol
i think breeders have nailed the sativa high and even improved taste it just yield that i have issue with but if ssh can pull 2.5 lbs then there's hope but the best iv seen from ssh 3.5 to 4 oz's
