I just wrapped up my last harvest a few weeks ago and buds are currently curing. I’m running 2 autos that a week in and I thought now might be a good time to upgrade so I can have more vertical space. I’m looking at the vivosun 2.7x2.7 grow tent, but I don’t want to use there light. I wanted to try spider farmer or mars hydro. Do they work with the e43 grow hub controller from vivosun? I’m upgrading from a 2x2x4, so I’m going to be using all the same equipment, inline fans, etc. my question is what light that is around 200 watts that works with the grow hub controller and produces amazing results? I managed to pull 89 grams from a 100w so bigger is better right? I want maybe a couple ozs per plant or close to it if that helps any

You'll find a higher watt light easier to work with. A 100w light is gonna have a pretty narrow sweet zone, probably only feasible as a scrog for best yields. The appeal of 100w is getting more with less if you can dial in your distance, but with that low wattage you probably have a sweet zone that's maybe 10 inches deep for your canopy to thrive it's best. Outside that zone, lower is too little and higher is too much. Higher watt bulbs offer a larger growth zone that isn't so fickle.

200W is kind of an in-between wattage for SF and MH. I'd go with one of their square 300W bar lights. It's more power than you'll need in that size tent, but your light will probably last longer than a lower intensity fixture running full out. I'm partial to the Mars, because their rated color temp is a little bluer, but if you don't care, I think either would work well. No clue on compatibility with that controller.

If you don't have a tent or environmental controller yet, I highly recommend AC Infinity.
Controllers, tent, equipment, etc is the best IMO, you definitely can't beat their customer service.
I use the controller AI+ and the controller 69, highly recommend both.

As far as lights go, AC Infinity, Spider Farmer, and HLG make some great lights, there's actually quite a few different brands that make great lights.
It all depends on your needs, I personally like Bar Style lights because they run cooler, I size my bar lights to be almost the same size as my tent (within inches) for the best coverage.
Most of them are compatible with AC Infinity Controllers with the proper RJ adapter.

That is a 7.29 sq/ft area.

What size light, mainly depends on your goals, and how much you want to maximize the grow space.
Plus, the more poweful light that you use, the more, very serious need for Constant Fresh Air Exchange, or you wont be able to use all of the Photons, and the plants, will suffer light stress.
One of, if not the first things I try to figure out, as best as possible is?? How to get a constant fresh air exchange into the space.

I myself dont grow in a tent, and use HID, but in the end, its basically all the same. The more light, the more need, for fresh air exchange, or, you will run into problems, if you try and push the light.
Ever think abot that the SUN, is up to 2100umol, yet, the Outside Ambient CO2 level, is 421ppm, and in 1850, it was 183ppm, and weed grew just fine, under 2100umol of sun.

The reason is?? Even though the ambient air/CO2 level is low, there is so much of it, and with constant replacement, theres no way, a plant could use it all, regardless of ppm.

Going by current data. It is said, an LED is 1/3, more efficient than an HID. Ok.

Going by this assumption, and as stated By Gavita.

It takes 40w sq/ft, to EQUAL/Replace an HID, which a 1000w Hortilux HPS, is 62.5w sq/ft. 1650umol

It takes basically 650w, to replace a 1000w HID/Hortilux HPS-Single Ended, in a 4 x 4 area. This is NOT my statement, it comes from GAVITA, so regardless of anyone wants to debate it, they can go talk to Gavita.

So, in your basically 7.30 Sq/ft, at 40w Sq/ft, it takes 292w, to EQUAL, the better 600w-Hortilux HID/HPS. So the 300w recommended above, is dead on.

This is the formula I use, and it keeps it extremely simple. And it comes from a company, that has done Extensive Testing. And, the main thing is, it keeps it extremely simple, and takes out any guessing.. Next thing would be Spectrum-K Rating.

This an older post so not helpful to the OP, but I used 100w to flower an auto in a 2x4 for fun while I was vegging a couple plants and it surprising produced a decent plant. The vs3000 from Vivosun is a solid light for a 3x3 or 2x4 I got great results with the vs3000 in a 4x4 but it was a little underpowered for that size of tent.
