Hell im hoping for 4-5oz from my viparspectra but no clue.. Theyre still chunkin out hah
Honestly im not sure how to even tell what kind of yield to expect... 150w in 3x2.

Height, veg time, light, strain and style play big roles.

I mean there is no way to say absolutely but if you take your sq footage and have 30w per sq ft. A gram per watt for the sq footage should be close. Now if your training you can prob get a bit more.

So 3x2=6sq ft. 6x30w 180w needed min for max growth. 180grams is about 6.5 ounces. Should be fairly reliable yield.

If you scrog or lst you will likely get more.

Depending on strain and time, but at least 1oz/ft is what I consider a success.

I'm more concerned with quality than quantity. As long as the light doesn't produce less than a 150 hps and uses less electric and heat I'd be happy. That is assuming the potency is the same.

It should be very comparable provided your getting the 30w per sq ft. Min

More light than 30w per sq ft ensures you get the max but I don't think you can count on it at a 1gpw increase over and above 30w.

This is for led only

So going 40-50w/sqft you wouldnt see any benefit, just require dimming?

Oh you may see benefit... But imo not 1gpw benefit. If you are 40+ you should be running co2 hell even 35-40 is Worthy of it.

I run CO2 at 37w sq ft.

Oh okay, good to know! I hope i get 1g/w with what ive got right now, the 150w/3x2 but just in case i made sure to get a better setup for next grow 240w/4x2 ;) lol :) gotta make sure i produce enough to satisfy the lady :p hah

Should be close on a good clean grow with an above average yeilder. Like I say no way to tell exactly as there are to many variables but it's a reasonable expectation if the grow goes well

Exactly. If I were to flower under the ts1000 it would be a 2x2 scrog. No other way imo Doing that the yield and quality should be fine. Just gotta know how/what you're working with, it's obviously not going to blow you away but it will outperform a 150W HPS, no doubt.

It should but there is a difference with LED. The temps can really throw ya for a loop when switching. You need a warmer room. I run mid 80s and will likely go into the 90s this run bit you need to have the humidity and airflow to keep leaf temps in the 77-83 range which I prefer

Exactly. That's what I meant by "know your light" lol raising temps has been my only big adjustment

So if I ran a 150 hps side by side with the hlg 135 would it not work because one side would either be too hot or cold?

No it will work you just need to balance leaf temps. That hlg has IR added so the difference won't be as big. The original hlgs like mine have none so leaf temps are much cooler and thus you need to run a much warmer room

@growsince79 you won't likely see any real difference. They will likely produce nearly identical results. Just wanna be honest about it. It's not like led are a magic light. They do run more efficient and cooler though

I don't even care so much about the power, it's the heat that limits my growing season. If I match the 150hps on yield and lengthen my season I'll be happy. In the winter, my closet temp, with lights on, stays 5 degrees hotter than the room. But in the summer it's 10-15 degrees hotter. The AC can't keep up, so I don't even try.

Well it should help you a bit but I'm not sure one will do what ya need because a watt is a watt and that's where heat comes from. Do you have your ballist inside or outside the tent? Let's go over how we can get that down for ya. And what to expect before you waste money.

If you run that 135w at max that's going to be 135w of heat instead of 150w of heat. Not a huge difference in heat but you also get a lot more usable light. To replace 300 watts of hps you would need somewhere about 180-200w of led (very conservative estimate probably less) So that will cut the heat produced by atleast 1/3. Now ideally you could use more light I would say 240w to be a good amount. More light but not as much reduction in heat as you may need. But getting a 240 or 260w led is still ideal because you can dial them back to the 180-200 that should be equal to your current HPS and when it's cooler you can crank em up to get max lighting because they come with a dimmer.

Also mounting the drivers outside the tent will help reduce it further. I use 18gauge thermostat wire to do so if there is not enough in the kit.

So if heat is the issue I think you can get to where you need in order to grow. It may not be the most ideal amount of light (more than currently though) but you will be able to adjust to get the max light you can use to keep temps in check on the fly.

Good info to know. I always heard a watt of LED produced less heat than a watt of HID. LOL maybe I should just stfu and quit trying to fix shit that ain't broke. The garden provides plenty as is.
The problem is weed may not be addictive, but growing it is.

Oh ain't that the truth bro... The difference is led uses less watts to produce the same amount of photons or plant usable light energy. So less watts used equals less heat produced.
