I am wondering what the fellow farmer would do with this space and gear?

10x10 room
4 600 watt lumatek's
12 RDWC buckets
40 Gal res
1/4 hp Hydrofarm Chiller
8" Vortex 747 cfm Fan (exhaust)
Can 100 Filter
6" AXC Inline 308 cfm Fan (intake)
Stealth 100 R/O Filter

I'd retire the inline fan and use it as an air cooled fan for 4 1kws and upgrade to a 10" exhaust fan and drop the buckets and get some black gold! And a can 125 might work better for this setup. You did ask....lol

How many containers and what size would you put in there, I have access to one more light a 1000 watter, and I have cool tubes for the lights but found they get very dirty very quick.

depending on many factors I typically go 16 2 gallon containers per 4'x4' or 12 3 gallon or 9 5 gallon in a 4'x4' but again plant genetics are gonna dictate as if you have something that doesn't do nice medium sized bushes you might have to sog it...etc...

I feel that the last couple of cycles in my space have definatly been lacking in yeild. Last go I got 33 oz's from 5 plants DWC and under 4 600 hps's. I feel if I do more plant numbers but smaller plants i can increase this yeild.

24 x 5gal coco would do well if those 600s were 1k. Id section off a slightly smaller section for more concentrated light and go smart pots of chow.

Edit: maybe like 8x8 and 18 or 20 girls

Yeah, forgot your gonna run 600watter, 9 plants in 3 gallons each works well but if your trying to keep numbers down prob won't work...

I'm actually in about the same place as you, Soda. I've got a 11x10 room with 4 1kw hoods. I've barely got enough air-flow with my puny 6" inline fan. I'm setting things up to be a sealed room in the next few months, and I want to make sure I've got adequate airflow, because I'm adding even more lights into the mix. I WANT to end up with 10kw in the room, but I feel like it'll end up being more like 8kw...

My question is, do I need to put in a 10" fan, or a 12" fan in there for ventilation? OR, should I do two seperate lines of 10 inches?

Sorry to thread-jack, I just felt this was the best place for my questions... Thanks!!

I would Get 2 Large A wings put 2 600's in each and center over a 3x6 botanicare tray as a soilbed. Set up some trellising. Scrap the hydro and use your water chiller with an ice box to cool the whole room. Run the small inline on the can filter as a scrubber and the big inline to exhaust and passive intake.

No worries bro, jack away!! Lol, Last night I was thining my 8 inch fan is waay too small even for my 4 600, I think I need to upgrade to at least a 10 maybe even a 12, like flavour said. I never took into account Static Pressure when Sizing my fan. For every 90 degree elbow is equal to 10 feet of straight pipe. I was cooling 2 of the 600 with my 6 inch 308 cfm fan, and they didn`t seem to keep all that cool. I want to go to a sealed room as well, but it just seems like so much more effort and equipment needed.

I like the idea of cooling the room with the chiller... Thanks for the suggestion, Mr White ( I am the DANGER!!)

The best words i could ever tell you are seal that bitch up man. You may put more down to start but in the end you will save your self so much money on power and be able to hit them with co2. i like the fact that i can run my big fans when lights are on and no more i can change the air in my tents every 10-15 mins of the hour and pump co2 for the rest of the time.

What would you expect to yield from my space i know there are lots of factors, but what would you expect to see with 4 600s in the same space

I'm positive that going sealed is worth the effort and expense. It pays dividends in the long game. I'm thinking about putting all my hoods on a frame so they're held together, and hard-piping all the hoods together. I'm gonna get 2 new hoods after this harvest gets trimmed and cured, probably yeild-master 8"s. If I can work it out, I'll go with one 8" fan and one 6" fan, with ice boxes on at least 4 of the hoods, hopefully all 6. I'll eventually want more, but by then, I think I'll need more AC than the 2 8k BTU wall-bangers I've got...

I definitely can't afford a Co2 set-up this round, so I'm not going to go 100% sealed, but I'm gonna get it close... I'm gonna paint the walls and probably seal the floor. Get it all ready for Co2 after the next run...

I'd go either organic soil or UC--get some liquid cooled hoods going with the chiller and res. I'd definitely seal up and get some CO2 pumpin in there.

Probably put CO2 top of the list if I had yield concerns.

I guess with the addition of CO2 higher temps are no longer as much of an issue....

I know, man... I just added up the basics of my next upgrade, and even with my discount at the hydro store, its still gonna well over $1500... :( I hope and pray we're gonna yeild at least 3 pounds, or else I'm not gonna get to buy everything I want.

I'm figuring that adding Co2 is gonna cost me about the same...

O.k. so I was looking into the upgrade of CO2, and I think the only way I am going to be able to do it is to use bottled CO2. The temps are already barely under control when in full bloom, I couldn't imagine burning propane for CO2. Although it would increase my humidity.

So what I need for CO2 from a tank is the following, please let me know if this is right:

Large CO2 Tank
Regulator with Solenoid + Flow Meter
PPM CO2 Moniter + Controller

Check Craigslist. can sometimes find tanks on the cheap. Check and understand the dates on the tanks before you buy.

Check this co2 controller out. Thanks to whoever posted it that time I saw i here on the farm
The cap ppm4 is another cheap plug and play solution.
