Whats wrong with my first grow

All plants were started the same time and feed at the same time with the same nutes. The three largest plants were transplanted three days ago. Any idea what the issue may be with my grow? I washed and double buffered the coco but did not measure runoff. I also did not measure all the runoff on the last feeding. The one I did measure had a EC of .9. I was figuring if input was .7 and runoff was .9 the rootball would be High 7s or low .8s.

The light intensity level to 58% which moves my uMols up to about 450 uMols. I took this reading with my Iphone and Photone app. This change was done today, the previous setting was the same height but with intensity of 38% on dimmer and 380-400 uMols.

8:50 PM, dropped 5 seeds into a glass of spring water. Glass sitting in metal pan, half on and half off the heat pad. The heat pad is on lowest setting. These seeds came from crop king seeds and should be removed from the water in 14-18 hours. (10:50AM – 2:50PM)

Oct/ 26/21

At 2:45 placed seeds into wet paper towel on ceramic dish above seedling heat pad. They kept drying out a bit faster than I was checking them, so I added additional paper towels, this held the moisture longer.

Paper towel, non-bleached, non-colored, non-scented.

When putting germinated seeds into their first pot, water with water ph to 6.1. I use my well water, EC 0.0, ph 5.9, and then I ph up to get the 6.1.

Oct/ 28/21

2:30PM, 5 of 5 germinated. Some of the seeds have exploded, growing through the paper towel. Pulling them back through the paper towel probably caused damage. I planted the germinated seeds into (5) starter cups (4”dia. At the top and 3 ¾” tall, ¾ full). Decided I would take a chance and use my well tap water. The actual PH was set to 6.1. I put them under the TS 3000 at 120 watts and at 18 inches with plastic sandwich baggies over the top to keep humidity up for plant. Now as I said, this is my first grow, so I don’t know much about the light other than some research I did that stated to have at least 450 watts for a 4x4 and I couldn’t go wrong. 100-300 umols PPFD?)

The seedling stage starts when the cotyledons (first round leaves) open, usually around 3-4 days after the seed gets wet. The seedling stage runs until the plant has three true nodes (sets of serrated leaves). Hence, this covers roughly days 3-15 from seed

“Seedlings and young clones have weak, underdeveloped root systems. To help them absorb moisture, relative humidity should be kept high: between 65% and 80%. During this stage, you should aim for a temperature of 77°F during the day and 69.8°F at night.”

9:00PM, three plants standing. PH 6.1 water for first week. After first seven days I will start to feed seedlings.

1: 00PM, five plants standing. These last two seem weak, hopefully they will perk up #2 and #5. 11:30 PM, both have a membrane holding them closed and I was able to remove one and wet the other to aid in removal later. Bags still on. Watering does not appear needed.

Seedlings and sprouts in low ec water?

I now have 2 tall seedlings ( about 2 ¼”, #4&#1), 2 about 1 ¼” (#3 & #5), and one plant that’s been troublesome from the beginning (about 1”). Number 2 was the last to sprout, grew slow, had a membrane keeping it from opening and has one catyolon leaf that is still not open completely and yellowish.

I fed the plants today (around midnight) until the runoff matched the input. EC was.4 and the PH was 6.1. I have changed the light to 27”, 20%, 103 watts and 280 PPFD according to my phone app.

Nov/ 3/21(5 days old)

Today I added additional coco coir to three of the plants (#3, #1 & #4) as their stems were long and thin on two and one was just a small amount long, so I put some in that one as well. Watered the added coco with leftover nutes from previous day. Number 2 looks pretty bad. Its short, the leaves are under developed with a slight yellowish edge to the only two leaves it has. I think this plant will die but I will feed it until I’m sure it’s a lost cause. Hydrated the bags an returned them to the plants until I can get my humidifier up and running.

Nov/ 4/21(6 days old) 5:15pm

Removed the baggies from the top of cups and added a small humidifier with an Inkbird humidity controller. RH was set to 73 and tent closed. Coco appears wet, not watering. The humidifier cant seem to keep up with the high rh I’m requesting (73%). Baggies back on.

Nov/ 5/21(7 days old)

Wired up two humidifiers in tandem to work off of my humidity controller. In the process I managed to dump all my plants over. I “scooped em up, stuck em back in the pots and fed em”, then back under the light. This time with two humidifiers running together, hope it works. Hope the plants live. What a dumb ass.

FEED SCHEDULE (Per Gallon of water used) with room temp. Make sure there is at least 5 hours of light left after watering.

Break up feeding with plain ph balanced water only(maybe cal-mag?) (1. Every other watering, 2. Every watering). 15-20% runoff. (Water 5.5-6.5, 5.7-6.1 optimal) or (5.8-6.2) slightly different each time. 73%RH, lights at 27,30 inches above plants. 103 (20%), 115 watts? 18/6? Test runoff also. EC, PPM

18 inches for all weeks?

Week One Temp 72-79 400-500 EC (.4-.5 EC), (400 first few feeding, raise by 75 to 100 at each event.) 73%rh

Today I washed a brick of coco coir and began buffering process. I need to drain then add fresh buffering solution at about noon tomorrow. Washed in 18 gallon tub with tap water and buffered with 8 gallons of tap with 60 ml of Botanicare Cal-mag plus. 150% dose at 7.5 ml/gallon. I buffered it a second time the next day. I let it soak for 24 hours each time. I will drain the buffering solution and add either 30 to 40 % perlite. I will use this to fill my next larger pots.

11PM,

Changed light to 15000 lux, 280PPFD, 133 watts, power at 26, about 35”.

Nov/ 10/21(12 days old)

7AM, checked plants and they seemed to like the light change. Fed near midnight. I added some mycorrhizae (poured with nutes through coco) as an experiment to the smallest two plants (#2 & #5).

Transplant at 2 weeks to large pots (5 Gallon Talls recommended) after 4-5 sets of leaves. Watering once every 2 to 3 days when plants start to dry out. Easy to overfeed. Light at 27” (30 inches or 18?), other?

Vegetative

As young plants continue to develop their root system, their ability to absorb water improves. You can now lower Relative Humidity to 40% to 70%, with humidity levels lowered by 5% each week approaching the Flowering Stage. Temperatures of 69.8 – 82.4°F during the day lowered to 64.4 – 75.2°F at night

What about even more light? At some point, increasing the light beyond a threshold plant can manage will actually diminish returns. Said differently, once you reach about 85,000 lux, it’s simply too much. Some strains may already show signs of light stress at only 75,000 lux, with the risk of light bleaching increasing at over 80,000 lux. To keep it safe, it is best to stay at or below 75,000 lux.

Today I repotted the three largest plants into 5 gallon fabric pots. I used Green Eden mycorrhizal. I forgot to label so I hope I can figure these out. The light is set to 26.5 inches, 38%. 168 watts. Using my iphone 7 as a light meter with Photone app. PPFD at 380-400. 20000-24000 Lux.

Fed today, started with 4 gallons and ran that through the pots. I did not get the PH and the out EC was high at .9. I had put in EC.7 and ph 6.1. I need a better way to remove the runoff. I have been drawing out with big syringe. Thought about running another 3 gallons through but decided to see how the plants react. At present, they seem to be droopy due to transplant shock, hope they pull through. This coupled with the high EC-out worries me. I will consider the plants as starting veg stage when and if they get past this transplant shock. Only three are transplanted as I don’t believe the others are ready as they seem stunted somehow and one appears to have bad genetics. I may cull these but as long as they don’t present me with any problems , I will continue to feed.

Nov/ 15/21(17 days old)

I think the plants are beginning to recover. There appears to be slight improvements. I was pondering whether I should run another gallon of nutes through, due to the previous “EC high output “ before. I think I will give it another day. Oh,.. I changed the humidity settings to try and achieve 55%RH and the light intensity level to 58% which moves my uMols up to about 450 uMols. I hope the plants responds well to the light changes. I have also posted on THC Farmer to ask about the issues with my grow.

Week Two through Four (55% RH.) You can start super cropping when your plant is in the third week of its vegetation phase? Ph 5.8-6.0 EC? 5.6-5.7 or ideally 6.1 ph

From what i understand, coco shouldnt ever be left to go dry and idk how it would remain moist enough if youre only watering 1 time every 4 days. Im watering 7gallon pots of SOIL every 3 to 4 days so imo this is underwatered. I do not know how your medium operates as far as watering goes but according to what Ive been told by a coco grow guru is that it should never go dry...he said certain strains when in optimal conditions required being watered 2 times a day in coco. Hope that helps.

I have a new symptom, there appears to be purple spots on the leaves. I noticed on the last feeding the more I fed the more the runoff ph would keep getting lower. Now this is happening. I have no idea why it kept getting lower (which may be the actual problem). Is it likely I have the ph so far off it cant pick up the Phosphorous and this is a phosphorus deficiency? Do I just make a new batch of nutes ph,ed a little high (6.5), and flush the snot out of it checking runoff? These are 5 gallon fabric pots so it may take gallons? Please provide your thoughts to a first time grower. Plants 19 days old in coco coir.

Not intentionally but yes, I have been feeding every 3 - 4 days but found out that I may probably need to water twice daily. I did flush the plants with 2.5 gallons of water per plant to get back on track. I damaged leaves are probably permanently damaged. What new growth there is, does not seem affected but need more growth to be sure. I will post a pic when light cycle begins.
