Been begging for a little over two weeks. Little confused about light intensity as it relates to grow stage.
So the question is when is it best to have the most intense light ?
I’m using a HLG 600r. 44” above the plant. Measured approx 200 PPFP with a cheap meter. The dimmer is at 50%. Ladies are very happy and growing well,
Thanks in advance

The highest light intensity would be the height of flowering.

Here's some very rough ppfd numbers I use as a guidline.

unrooted clones: - barely any light
seedlings: - 100 - 250
early veg: - 200 - 400
late veg: 400 - 700
beginning of flower: 600 - 700
height of flower: 800 - 1000
ripening: lower your ppfd

Numbers would be different if using CO2.

Thanks ! Just curious, is it good to turn up the intensity gradually or does it matter ?
Appreciate the info

I personally like to do it gradually but the plants tend grow towards the light on their own. Just keep an eye out for heat/light stress. I like to take a PAR reading at least once a week to see where things are or if things just aren't looking right.

If i see leaves praying hard to the light, I'll up the intensity a little bit until they don't look as extreme. Likewise if i see them looking unhappy, or shying away from the light (taco'ing, etc.) or showing odd deficiencies for no reason, i'll lessen the intensity.

Just checked them after turning up the dimmer. Now they look like they’ve praying, before they were flat, straight out.
Good or bad ? More light or less.

pics?

Flat isn't a bad thing. Drooping, curling, taco'ing isn't good.

After 2 weeks of t5 I throw them under 1000watt led at 54 inches for 1 hour and supplement the other hours with 5
t5 and everyday lower light 4 inches and extend 1 hour untill about day 4 and leave lights at 36inches and unless they are stressing I'll keep extending by 1 hour but by day 4 they are adapted. The younger they will adapted faster with being reasonable but vegg times are much shorter

I’m using T5 lights at first as well. These are the femminized seeds just coming up. The others are unknown seeds and are our test babies.

The plants you showed pics of would be doing fine under T5's. Think about that for a minute..

I have been doing pretty much every thing that you have been told above and it has been very good for the results and the plants were starting to foxtail in week six and I’m not sure but it seems to have helped with the light being turned down to 80% the next couple of weeks will tell To be honest this is something that I’ve been doing for only the last two or three gardens and before they have had full power from the whole cycle and that Is not necessary for the veg period and the results are not going to be better than the half power and can be detrimental for them but it is something that ive learned from this place and the knowledge that is on here. I think it’s working that’s for sure peace

Would you ever consider exhale bags or some form of supplemental co2. Foxtailing can be due to stress of heat and Intensity of the light the plant can only take so much ppfd and canopy shouldn't get hotter than 85-86 but could push maybe 87-88 with co2. But Foxtailing might just be a phenotype trait.
