Hi,
Question for the experienced farmers out there.
This is my 2nd grow, followed all guidance, low stress grow, Co2 generator, humidity controlled, light cycle, and nutrients all good.
But the yield on 3 diff strains is half of when I just let them grow, didn't control humidity or follow low stress grow technique, just checked nutrient levels.
Much more dense buds now and less "popcorn" but no more potent.
Any help and advice please?

Hello farmer

The reason for a low yield could be a lot of different things, based on the information you provide it's not really possible to pin point any specific problem you are having.

I'd suggest that you make yourself a grow diary on here and someone will surely help you out if you run into any problems along the way.

Potency is the way the plant grows the last 3 weeks. As long as you have a good veg base and have sufficient nutrition the frost shows up later in the run.
Some growers have found that certain types of stress increase potency. These include light depravation, temp reduction and enviroment changes to up production of resin glands in the flowering plant. Perhaps inadvertently you struck up on one of the stressors that worked in your first grows and now you have eliminated one of the potency keys for your strain.
Or perhaps it's a curing thing. Did you re use terps bags or pouches?
In addition enough data has been gathered to show finishing above 75 degrees for the last 3 weeks has a detrimental effect on THC and terps. Some strains as high as a 20% reduction in potency. These are both university and commercial growers and is strain specific but was enough data that proves to me the last 3 weeks is at 75 degrees.

How long are you vegging the plant for?

This is likely going to be disappointing advice but without more turnarounds under your belt in a new startup, its going to be very difficult to determine the exact cause of your issue.
I agree with Randyy, start a grow diary, use a real paper notebook and physically write down everything you observe. I've grown in the same indoor location year-round in upstate New York for long periods of time and sometimes you do everything exactly the same and its the time of year or whatever and you end up with 14 less ounces than the last run.

Nutrients/Light/ O2 / CO2 / humidity,, combined any 2 of the above will hurt.

I have the same question . Im getting about 1 oz dry weight per plant under my viparspectra xs1500, but i see others getting twice that with the same light. heres where i think i have gone wrong ,
vegging. the last 2 grows i have only vegged for 4 weeks so the plant doesnt have enought time to get some good roots down, which i assume will affect how much nutrients it will take up later.
overwatering, i have been overwatering and i think this creates fine hair like roots which probably cant take up nutes as well , they take up some, so the plant keeps growing, but the stuff it doesnt take up can build up, then you get to bud phase and add more, or stronger nutrients which starts locking out N and K , or like in my case locked the plant up almost overnight.
chopping to early , one of my grows i chopped as soon as i saw amber tricomes, but i didnt realise they show on the leaves first , couple of weeks before the bud and in that last 2 weeks is when they bulk up the most .

Show photos. But usually people dont LST good and top too much that stunts growth a lot you loose weeks.second is watering if you do it too often or too little plant doesnt grow and just waits.
Then the light if your canopie is not flat few buds get too much or too little and that allsoo affects your numbers.
Last is nutrients if you feed the wrong stuff it will burn or starve

O yea and some people cut too soon.last 2 weeks of grow is most of the weight.
And even when you dry if you dry too much most of water weight will leave its not the biggest problem because its not just more concentrated

And then even when you do everything best. genetic makes a huge difference
