LED in the united states is connected to 120v AC power supply, then the current travels to a device that not only steps converts AC to DC, but takes the 120v and distribute it evenly in 3 or 5 v DC sectors to each led light that is most likely connected to a 330 ohms resistor

If your passionate about growing or enjoy growing why turn down the opportunity to experiment.. this was part of my main argument the cost.. u can get a used system on ebay for $50 dollars.. or if u believe second hand stuff isn't as good you can get a brand new system on Amazon for like $100.. and once your done your gonna walk away with decent amount of bud, plus if you dont like it you can simply resale it and recoup a portion if not all ur money back.. plus it will just be more knowledge, something you can say u done to add to ur grow adventuresAnd this is not " reaserch" different strains even the canopy is different hid optimised led one in the corner is 2m tall rest 1m

Energy and the lesser heat, they seem to last longer as well. The design of led gives you better corner to corner even PPFD coverage.Energy cost. Would be my guess.
