I started an indoor grow a few weeks ago, making some mistakes... Starting with germination in 5G pots... I had one seed per pot, thought I'd screwed up after a few days, added a second set to the pot and sure enough those first original seeds then also sprout.

Where I'm confused though is that while 3 seeds are doing well, the 4th seems to just be struggling. I'm pretty sure it's grown some, but compared to the others, well, pictures will show:

The soil looks wet because I just watered them when I took the pictures. Seedlings at the side of the pot are the first pair of seeds, center of pot the second pair.

I'm not sure what's going on given the conditions are exactly the same for all seeds.

Any ideas?

Also... Once they move to vegetation I do plan to move to individual pots.

Thanks

2 seedling in one pot is not a good idea especially for a first time grower,. i’d get it out of there,.
you normally would transplant up as the plant grows but no biggie,. than watering its looks like your not watering correctly,
i’ll be back later,.

Yeah I hadn't planned on more than 1 per pot, I'm not sure how much bigger I should let the larger ones get before transplanting them. Trying to avoid doing it too soon and causing issues, but I've got pots and supplies to make fresh soil in hand.

Watering, definitely interested to hear your thoughts there. At the moment I feel the soil, if it's feels damp I'm not watering, if it's dry, I'll water but not heavily. The larger ones seem to be growing nicely, these were 5 days ago

the watering method of just adding a little bit around it will only lead to issues,.
you need to water the medium to where it is all wet,. 5 gallon gags should take 1 gallon of water by giving it a 1000ml at a time covering the surface of the medium every 20 mins or so until done,. than wait for it to dry out and with plants that small i’d say at least a week,
this is why you start out in smaller pots and transplant up,. easier to mange,.

Ah yeah, on the next grow I'll definitely be starting in smaller pots, already chalked that one down.

So basically a quart every 20 minutes until the entire gallon is in there, then check after about 5 days and repeat when necessary. That's about the clearest watering instruction I've read, so thanks for that.

Any idea on the runt? It's definitely growing, just painfully slowly compared to the others.
