This smoke isn't as stinky as stuff I've done in the past. Now it's been dried about 8-9 days in closet w doors closed.
Some branches bend & smallerv1s snap.
Smells great on the branch.
I've trimmed about a Mason jars worth & 24 hrs later it's lost the funk.
Any recommendations would hlp

Maybe after going thru curing process smell will return. I’m sure you know this but proper curing process brings out best smell & taste!

Here's the thing I've never been able to hold onto it long enough to even attempt cure

I've never had smell disappear & hay smell come out of dry weed.
I'm afraid if it were any more dry it would crumble to dust.

If it is dry and stinks like hay it's probably gunna stay that way. The cure went wrong.

Just buy some bud to tide you over & do the cure. You’ll be glad you did! I’ve been smoking for over 25 yrs.& I’ve kbrown plenty of growers mostly commercial grows who had bad ass grows but we’re too impatient because they wanted that money quick or just wanted it to way heavier from water weight to make more cash & the result was bud that didn’t live up to its potential. There’s nothing like a good bud cured properly. The difference is night & day in taste, smell, potency,& nice even burning! Trust me you won’t regret it!

That’s what causes hay smell is not drying & curing properly. You clearly dried too much if it’s close to turning into dust. Bud should only be dry enough where outter is slightly crispy to touch & inner damp when squeezed. Also it has to be low slow cure.

Im not rushing it
This all personal. I'm leaning toward lack of humidity. I hadvit in a closet & in thinking it was breathing too much.
I have a few other branches w fan leaves on & taking slower approach.

I’ve found that if I cut any leaves or trim the plants and then dry them I will have hay smell with less overall smell after drying. I whole plant hang and only remove large fan leaves and still leave about 20% of them on. 60-65*F and 50-60% RH is my personal sweet spot. I have an open room and a fan hitting the wall so only a light breeze hits the buds. It drys in 5-7 days and I cure it for 2-5 weeks (usually 3).

Look into Grove Bags. They are an alternative to curing in a jar. The science is that the bag has a 1 way membrane that releases gases and makes for a better cure. I was skeptical but did an A/B test and it was a surprising difference

Love the Grove bags. So lucky to have been able to start with them and never know what the pleasure of burping 10+ jars is like.

Grove Bags are nice but you still need to nail the initial dry. I think that's where things went sideways.

Yeah I agree. That drying requires mastering the environment even more than when growing. I learned that lesson firsthand lol

It was alot easier when I had my whole grow room dedicated to drying in between crops.
I've purchased an adjustable automatic de humidifier.
It'll be here on the 10th
Thx again 4 all the info
