I had a pretty bad infestation of fungus gnats starting about a month ago. I used
AzaMax, treated six plants 3 times over a 7 day period and BAM, knocked those lil' fuckers on their asses!! Of course, following the 7 P's would have been the best solution, Proper Previous Planning Prevents Piss Poor Production. But, being a newer grower, I didn't even see the extent of the infestation coming. The little buggers targeted one plant and were producing quickly. I just went to my local hydro store and started asking my favorite sales associate what I could do and he gave me a few good answers. First, the
AzaMax is great because it's organic, or at least it is in my eyes. It's one of the many neem seed oil products that eradicate quite a few little buzz killers, and with proper application, it should start to drop the numbers (of FG) that you see in a matter of days. I sprayed not only the plant itself, up and down and all around, but underneath the pots as well. I use Warrior pots, and they have a little cone shaped indention up the middle with lots of long slat holes to allow roots to breath. Well, the little fungus gnats really like that lower, dark access to the soil and were dropping eggs out the bottom like it was a FG factory! So, again, I sprayed the shit outta that area. I also waited until the plant had dried out up top, on the surface of the soil, so that the
AzaMax water was the most readily available source of moisture to feed on until my next watering. And I soaked the top layer of soil, good! Now because I only had a few plants to treat, I was left with half a bottle of solution once done properly spraying the three main plants I wanted to treat. So I returned in three days, between waterings, to finish the bottle. By the end of the week, I wasn't seeing the results I wanted to, lesser numbers, but still not gone, I mixed another batch and went at em for a third treatment. I didn't feel this would threaten the plants seeing that it is just a neem seed oil spray and I wasn't drenching the leaves as much as I was the soil. It worked well!! I have a tolerable amount of the lil buggers now, and though I would rather it be none, they kinda come with the territory. So, if I think that they're starting to get back to the high numbers again, I spray. It's doing the trick.
One more thing I would like to add is this: Like I've read in many other threads, a clean grow room is essential to a good grow. Sweeping every few days, and wiping surfaces is very helpful, along with making sure to be clean yourself before entering the grow. You don't want to be outside rummaging around in your garden out there and doing landscaping, then come indoors and start playing in your plants. This will surely transfer more unwanted critters to your ladies. So, it may seem excessive to shower before doing anything with your plants (indoors), but at the very least, possibly change your shirt, and scrub those hands and arms to the elbow to make sure you don't bring any hitch-hiking mites, flies, or bugs to your ladies. It's worked for me to keep conscience of this and it should work for you too. Good luck and my opinion,
AzaMax is a good product, try it out if you haven't already. Safe and effective.
