oke so i got seeds online and 2 of my northern lights flowered hermie, not from stress, the other seeds i got were great but a tiny bit of pollen must had did its job as i see 2 or 3 seeds on each of the other plants

my question is: are the seeds crossed and still fem or are they hermie now since one of its parents was hermie.

The plants that were pollinated by the hermie should be female seeds, the hermie seeds themselves could be either male or female.

What caused it? Strain related? What strain?

What ended up being the cross?

I'm actually in flower right now with plants that were seeds from a plant pollinated by a hermie my last grow.

my seeds that flowered hermie were northern lights, where its pollen sacs were it was in its genetics :(
i had seen online that 9/10 seeds that are "feminized" will hermie.

but from what i had found online to make fem seeds you need to "stress" the hermie, that if its genetics have herm in it that it could pass it down to the seed.

im just unsure what happens if you have 2 fem seeds one turns herm, does the pollen still act like fem or herm haha i get so confused

Did it pollinate another northern lights or was it a different strain that ended up pollinated?

You will have to wait for someone else to come along, I just don't know when it comes to the genetics of them. Someone definitely will though.

The strain that it happened to me with was Sharklato, positive it wasn't stress. All the seeds I grew from the female that was pollinated by the hermie were female and they show no signs of being hermie.

Idk if Sharklato is prone to hermie or not, I believe it's a form of Runtz. I'm sure it's not 9/10 though.

I'll be watching for someone else to chime in, I'm curious myself!

oh sorry i mean 9/10 it will be feminized, that there is a 1 out of 10 chance of hermie just from what i had read online.
interesting you had the same type of thing happen though, because it would be fantastic if that happens having northern lights crossed with 5 other strains

What are the 5 other strains?

Yeah, I seen you say 9/10 hermie and I was like why the hell would you buy seeds that have a 90% chance to hermie lol.

I've only grown 6 of the seeds so far, maybe I'm just lucky.

and the 2 northern lights which are in the bin from 5 weeks ago.
im just into the 7th week of flowering.

They will carry the hemi trait and should be treated as such ; they will have a high amount of females however the more you breed with them the less stable they get

I’ll Try being more informative

Ok so the first run you will get a high % of females however you also run the risk of one of them herming pollinating the others basically ruining your crop

The seeds of them will carry a higher rate of hermi so on and so forth till the seeds from the plants are full on hermi

In essence they are not worth the risk
That said some so called good strains were the result of hermi

In reality there not worth taking the risk with especially if your running other strains

i just harvested some of my own seeds i got from a strain that hermied on me, i didn't get especially more hermie phenotype within the batch than their parents.

i got 3 hermie phenotypes with their parents, including one that pollinated herself and the 7 others in the tent.
With the child i also got 3-4 phenotypes out of eight that showed a few balls.

may be one plant out of eight showed more severe hermie trait than their parents but that's all.

I think you took my comment wrongly or I typed it badly properly the latter.

As you well know that the offsprings will carry the hermi trait in its genes

I never said the offsprings would hermi I only said there’s a chance.

I did say the first run would have a high % off females. I didn’t say they would hermi there’s a possibility it may then again it may not express the trait.

It’s why some of the strains that started from hermies are called good strains as they carry the trait but don’t express it much

well the plant can become hermie just cause it was genetically diverted to it, you can just remove the pollen sacks (ballsacks hehe) and let it flower, it will yield some.

I should play the fucking lottery, I haven't had a feminized seed ever hermie on me.
I grew a couple bag seeds that were male and thus promptly culled. But never had problems with feminized seeds. I like having all of y'all's luck. I don't want shims.
