I would say depends on how close the light is and how strong
I grow in the city there’s always light I try to block as much as I can
Do your leaves stay praying at night ?

Where is the garage light in relation to the plant? If the leaves aren't exposed directly to it, ie if it was around the corner, it will probably be okay. I have flood lights in my yard that are on until midnight, they are about 35 feet away and they don't bother my plants. While they're exposed directionally, the floods themselves don't point the direction of the plants.

I notice the plant is in a container, so you can at least move it around a little, even if you have to do it with some camouflage or something.

I could put something on top smoker to be higher and block if I have to! But can’t move anywhere or neighbors will see it ! Wish it would start budding instead of growing!

Take a free lux meter app on your phone outside and check. If you're even reading even one lux it's too much. Moonlight is .20 lux. Most outdoor lights aim to throw at least 50 to 100 lux putting you 250× to 500× over the 'safe" zone.

Unplug the garage light

Chances are it will mess with it, although your saving grace is that your garage light is a infinitesimal amount of light relative to the red ratios it will be reading from the sun which will indicate dark period. The exact amount of dark period needed for a given individual plant to have pfr cycles trigger flowering is gonna be...individualized. I have heard of some master cultivators who have revegged outdoor greenhouses with this type of math but if you just go by the 12 hour dark period = flowering for photoperiods 'rule of thumb' and haven't dug deeper than that into your situation, I'd adjust that light.

If you are worried about folks seeing your plant, too, just take the bulb out until harvest?

If the light is around the corner and one of those floods that you can change direction, make sure the flange isn't pointed the direction of the plant. Over where the grass is, have the spot end where the grass ends if you can.

I would get like 20' of thick black plastic, 3M adhesive Velcro, an cover them at night. Open in the mornin before work.
Or go indoors, hard growing in a town or city. Believe me I know, I had one crop stolen out of my backyard once. That's what I moved indoors. Good luck !!

Also a stupidly obvious question, can you maybe swap out the bulb for something lower wattage and maybe in a warmer color / amber temp?

Just reminded me of the other issue around lights... moths!

Put up a tarpaulin at night as yes it will mess with it just like a light leak does in a tent
The colour of the bulb will make no difference it will still be affected

I've heard they can be exposed to higher levels of amber than other light temperatures without being triggered. But even if not true, it's been proven amber light will attract less moths than white or blue hues.

Interesting I didn’t know that ; live & learn

Must admit I was going by a light leak being a light leak props on the knowledge.
