I know personally when I was first getting into cloning I made s*** way too difficult. I've been using this system for the past few weeks and I've got damn near 100% success rate. In fact the only ones that have died are the ones that I've made an error on. Like, let the water dry up or let the air hose fall out or things like that.

It's nothing but a Mason jar, a 2-inch net pot, and an air hose stuck down in there. No airstone, no plugs, no growing medium, just some good cuttings and aerated water. I put a little socket on the end of the air hose with a tee fitting to hold it on to keep it down at the bottom of the jar. Not only do the hold the hose down but also sends air out in both directions. I've been using 1/4 strength nutrients and changing the water every other day and having fantastic results. I tend to take pretty long cuttings as well because I think for some reason they survive better and I cut directly through the middle of a node. I don't have any true research to back it but I've seen in my own results that they root faster than one cut in the middle of the branch or between nodes. That's totally Bro Science and you can take it or leave it but from my experience cutting right in the middle of the node will tend to have a quicker root and it will generate from the node.
