If I put earth worms in my soil would they eat my plant? I'm planning on putting coffee grounds n eggshells in my soil, but idk if the worms would eat that or not. Also any tips for new grower, much appreciated :)

I’ve read that earthworms are awesome for your plant’s soil. But i wouldn’t add that other stuff. Instead, add it to your compost bucket (among other things). Then use that composted soil.

I'd actually looked into this a little bit, a while back. As far as I can remember, the only possibly negative aspect I'd seen brought up is the moral issue of putting worms in a situation that would probably kill them. If you're ok with worm murder, I'm thinking I saw people suggesting red wiggler worms, since they supposedly tolerate higher temperatures than the average nightcrawler.

Worms yes, preferably created by an environment where the natural occurring earthworms in your soil thrive.

Compost belongs in a pile, box, bucket, etc. All table scraps except meat, bones, dairy and oil as well as most cut grass, weeds, leaves, etc.

Adding worms sold for fishing or raising that need certain conditions to survive won't help much other than a little more organic matter.

Good additions to your soil are manure but that should be done a couple months before planting. Manure teas help build healthy soil and are a good addition.

It truly amazes me we have to actually pay for cow, chicken, worm and bat shit.

I've got chickens and a client with 6-7 horses who has all the horse shit I can take.

Thinking of trying worms this winter/spring for castings but I ain't paying for any shit.

I got time. I have 100 lbs+ of raw horse manure in black plastic bags for over a month waiting for a box. Ready for fall crops. Nasty stuff today but in a couple months? Look out!
