And if yours is a solo cup, you could just buy a red one of the same size and drop it in! I’m not sure what your clear one is! But taping, and keeping the holes open is probably better!

thanks for all of the information you provided. Do you have any experience growing outdoors? my main concern i think will be pests.

That’s all I grow is outdoors! But have to start them indoors! But I think it’s doubtful. That are environments and climates will be anywhere close to each other! I’m in the north Sacramento Valley in Cali! Wicked, hot and dry! No appreciable rain from mid June to mid October! RH seldom gets over 50% even at night! Daytime in the single digitor teens!

There's 13 hours of daylight where I live right now. Here's what they look like today exactly a week after germination.

Had an accident today I tried to stabilise the young plant with a toothpick. I made a hole in one of the cotyledons and on one of the first leafs. Is it going to live? Also I don't know what that withe stuff is. The other one looks fine although it's growing way slower

Yeah! It will survive the stabbing! You can also stabilize it a little bit by filling the cup all the way up! Don’t know about the white! It could be those pest you were talking about earlier! Better go over it with a Loupe! If you don’t have a Loupe, you need to get one! Bugs like to live on the underside of the leaves!

thank you my friend. I really appreciate all the help you've given me. I just took a look with the loupe, yo. Only the 2 big leafs look a bit yellow in the middle.

You just want to eliminate bugs as the cause of that spotting! Maybe you spilled something on it or sprayed it! Just give the little squirt a good going over with the loop! Top and especially bottom! I know it’s hard to get a good look at the bottom of the leaves on a plant that small! But you need to figure out a way!

So I used a macro camera and the bottom side of the leaves look as a green as they can get. 100% healthy i would say

Coo! Maybe it will grow out of those spots! Just keep your eye on it!😁 you’re looking for tiny little bugs that like to hang out along that rib that divides the leaf on the bottom! They can be some tiny ones! I don’t wanna say the M word!😂✌️

So i woke up today to find out that one of them exploded overnight! Looks insane. Im very excited that my first grow ever is going well. Do you think I should transplant or wait a bit? The stem has really grown thick and strong.

Yes, the bigger one is likely ready for a bigger pot.

I love watching them grow when they’re that young. Every day they look different. They’re looking great so far. You can make a mixture up for pests of household spices. Mix some garlic and chilli powder with some water and let it sit for a few days. You can also use dr. Zymes fungicide and pesticide. They say you can use it all the way up to harvest. You can also lookup other plants that are pest deterrents and plant them nearby. Merigolds are good at keeping pests away. I usually plant a few around my garden. Good luck.

yeah you could do it! I like to wait a little longer! I want that stalk to root connection as beefy as possible! I don’t care for transplanting pencil necks! But I shake my roots off or break the dirt off of them when transplanting! If you’re just transplanting the entire plug, it’s probably not a big deal! Kind of personal preference thing!👍 i’m not a plug dropper inner!😆

On something that small, you’re better off just dropping the plug in! Until you get used to handling them! What are you going to transplant them into?
