Agreed... This is main reason that I posted this in Marijuana Cultivation. I find it very troubling that A private business (Google) could be crusing A sat 423 miles up doing google earth and mapping the globe or whatever and for the sake of conversation, lets say, capture A high Res. image of A large outdoor grow in say Nor Cal or where ever and because someones holier than tho outlook, drop the photo and gps location on say, DOJ's door step...
You Follow my drift?
Do people realize that Google Earth maps the entire planet block by block at that resolution and have those images at their disposal? I find that more than A little problematic...

Its crazy that Google has the authority to take pictures of peoples property with high resolution satellites. Hopefully local cops don't start asking Google to use there satellites to spy on growers, but I don't think it would be allowed in the Court of Law without a warrant. Either way I still don't like the fact that Google (and the Government) can spy on anybody they want on Earth, this is very upsetting.

this little dude needs an umbrella:cool: , whos in charge of what the smileys have?

I am glad we have our loyal & trusting government keeping us all safe from the boogeyman and terrorists. I mean what do I care if people can zoom in and see me and my stuff? and my garden and my girlfriend sunbathing topless, and how many weapons I have in my house,.. I have nothing to hide. I love my government and all they do for me. Now if we can just everyone to drive cars with tracking devices on them we'd be even safer. I think we should all wear tracking bracelets too....in case we get lost or sumpin.'
Designer tracking collars could be very trendy too.
What do you think your gps capable phone is? If it can tell you where you are at to give you directions and maps it can track you. If it connects to a cell phone tower or satellite it can track you.

Doesn't even need to have a gps feature, old school analog phones are trackable too, and your cell carrier keeps these records for 7 years(some longer) and will give the info to leo without warrants...

Geo eye(does google actually own them?) is just the new one, ikonos was selling images(not as hi res, but pretty damn good) since 2000, and there were probably a lot before that, the public was just unaware then...

I believe that you can disconnect your cellphone battery and stop transmitting signals but I am not 100% sure on that. I think you may still be able to buy/rent those cellphones with the minutes/packaged deal without giving out your personal information. They still track you in your vehicle even without a cellphone thanks to the intersection and freeway mounted cameras which record and process all license plates of cars and trucks passing through. (not to mention those wonderful EZ tolls, too). And then there is the ultimate voluntary tracking service, FaceBook! And for the Grand Caveat...tie it all into the Fusion Centers and they have a neatly filed database which shows everything about you since birth.

Of course this is all just another big conspiracy theory, right? And I am just overly delusional and paranoid. Oh my, I need to take my medication again. I love my Zoloft, Prozac, Oxy's and Xanax meds but have to get ready to make dinner by microwaving my GMO TV dinner and yummy aspartame dessert. I don't want to miss America's Top Model either, I just looooove that cute little show. I also have to get ready and write thank you letters to all those brave policemen who are out there risking their lives for my freedom and safety. God bless AmeriKa! <waving my cute little flag>

Dam. my guys got one of those androids, when you turn it on it has a little red eye that stays there for a min n says "DROID" looks like its scanning or something... it always freaks us out.

Hey Dz, you're absolutely right... the capability has been around for A while. Google is what they would call themselves A sponser/financial backer.
Jun 11, 2012 – Google Net Worth : $72.57 Billion (USD).
They don't own the sat outright, but they do get full access for X amount of time to manuver that bird as they please...
There is A few good guy's out their that have legislation on the table that promote the "right to privacy" that would force Google/Apple to disclose the time and flight path for all imaging to be disclosed publicly and also allow for the individual to "opt out" of Google Earth/Maps and all new imaging tech such as street maps ect.
Basicly if you don't want photo's of your property public, they have to delete it/block access...
That still leaves the question, those with big power have big responsability and will they use that power responsibly?

No matter how much me or anyone of use hates and doesn't trust our government, we should still be thankful for being born in America with the ability to pursue any career we want and make as much money as we want to support our families. I'm sure most of us are happy with our lives compared to the majority of people in 3rd world countries. I'm glad I wasn't born in some fucking straw hut in Haiti or another very poor and violent country. Think about it, alot of people in the US can go to a community college for FREE, fucking free bro, most kids in 3rd world countries can't even go to elementary school, let alone get a college degree for free. I'm not defending our government, I honestly don't trust anybody in politics, but I'm very thankful for the life I have compared to so many people in poor countries.

^true that, I used to be in land development and worked a lot with gps/gis technology and damn this is some cool stuff aside from the invasion of privacy/big brother issues...

I am not an "alarmist" by any means and I speak for myself but I am against the systamatic errosion of our constitional rights and that's what "Is" the fundemental definition of what "Being American" is all about... Our personal rights guaranteed via. the constitution are being slowly but surely striped away and that is the only thig that determines wether we are "Citizens" or "Subjects" "Part of" or "Ruled By" I Fear that the days of "Good" free education are short and numbered. We do pay for it you know? And the only "Good" free education in the future will be obtained via the will to educate ones "Self" via all that is available if you really "Want It" Ever take A close look at some of the people that are educating our children, our future? Teachers backed by unions, who pay big bro, to keep them paid and working, even when molesting children, teaching their agenda and pushing their own beliefs? This is not the case with all teachers by any means but it is becoming more prevelant. Are You aware of, or shocked by, how hard union backing makes it to out A shitty teacher... Just Sayin'

You are most definately right my brotha, I agree with everything you are saying. Now with free education of course we are paying for it one way or another, but my younger brother can get a 2 year Associates Degree from a community college and he gets a check from the government that pays for that education and then some. I know that money comes from our hard earned tax dollars but I was just making a point, that no country on Earth that is considered "poor" has those kinds of benefits for there youth, and thats one reason I am thankful I was not born in one of those countries. You understand my point of view, right?

By the way SoCal, I'm loving that avatar, skeet skeet!! :D

Put on your triangle tin foil hats there's more.

Now Police have something called the ShotSpotter.

  • ShotSpotter solutions capture and alert agencies to incidents of outdoor gunfire in diverse and complex urban areas, anytime and anywhere that they occur.
  • ShotSpotter instantly and precisely triangulates gunfire with accurate location data.
  • ShotSpotter solutions are specifically designed to detect only loud explosive sounds. Human voices do not trigger ShotSpotter sensors, which are placed in elevated locations in order to enhance their capability as well as ensure citizen privacy.
They claim voices don't trigger the sensors but I saw on The First 48 a dude got shot and it tripped the sensor and they were able to listen to the voices after it was triggered by a gunshot.
Maybe human voices don't trigger the sensors, but that doesn't mean there isn't a button somewhere on a computer to trigger it manually.

They have a call center in a remote location ( I believe it's in the USA) that monitors and reports alerts to the proper police dept. So the people aren't even in the same city or state where the alert is coming from and the people monitoring it aren't police, wtf? I'm sure soon it will be outsourced to India and the call centers in India will be monitoring the streets of Oakland, CA. By the way there are shot spotters in OAK, so don't pack a piece there.
So we can be tracked through GPS, cell phones, computers, street cameras, shotspotters, fast pass electronic toll bridge card, credit/atm cards ,RFID proximity cards, biometrics, dna, facial recognition, etc. Be careful and be aware.
Another gov. abuse of power and danger to society is the private military like Blackwater. With a private military the gov. can hire an army to carry out it's wishes without the prior knowledge of the public or legal approval of congress. Private military's have no laws or rules which they must obey as they most times operate in foreign countries and are contracted so are only responsible contractually and don't have to justify kills or other actions to anyone as there is no typical military command structure.

Thats crazy, I never heard of that before. The closest thing I saw was when I was in D.C. I lived in a bad neighborhood (the hood) and the police put cameras on every major street corner, yeah all the crack dealers left the block, but damn, now the cops are watching us walk down the street. I'm sure they could also hear us, and it didn't stop crime, because my friends got shot at on the same corner they had a camera and nobody got charged with the shooting. Invasion of privacy at its fullest.

I am so glad we are free. I still keep my tin-foil hat on though..except for quick showers and occasional hair-cuts. I love Google earth because it only catches the bad guys and keeps the rest of safe. I love my government and thank them for stealing money from other hard working people and giving it to me in the form of welfare checks. It's pretty cool, I do not have to work, can grow a little weed, get stoned all day and live quite nicely. Plus when I knock up my wife the government rewards me and gives me more money. I tell all my lazy deadbeat friends how great the government is and then they do the same as me. We all have nice cars too. So whats a few cameras here and there? meh..
