Hey all heres my log it will get long.
I am an indoor/outdoor grower with over 3 decades of experience.
I am growing out 2 ea nirvana white widows and 1 what I am leaning towards is northern lights #1 any thoughts please lmk
I only use foxfarm ocean forest soil and organic amendments as needed.
My amendments include liquid bone meal sea bird guano bat guano and earthworm castings.
I am currently doing an outdoor potted grow so I can move them if needed,we get some wicked hail in july/august.I have recently discovered these felt pots that are ridged enough and tough while also breathing and cooling the root mass through condensation and the have handles oh my god its amazing!!
In order to trigger flowering I have constructed a black out tent in the corner of the yard so they go into the tent at 7:30 pm and come out at 7:30 am. its a bitch dragging them back an forth but its a labor of love and I can also rotate them for max sun exposure.
Any questions please feel free to ask

after just 2 night of complete darkness for 12 hours they are already starting to stretch this should be fun to watch. Thier stems are now over an inch in diameter and they are vey beefy girls. I fully expect to get a lovely bouquet this fall.

Thank you Dr,
indeed they are heavy however the handles on the pots allow me to loop my belt through and tip/edge drag them so its not all that bad. as well I think it has toughened them up and caused the roots to really dig in the stems have gone from 3/8" to an inch today. My only concern at this point is mold developing in the blackout tent this fall. it IMHO will be late september before the widows finish and mid september for the mystery indica. thats a lot of nights in an unventilated tent. esp in late flower.

You could poke some holes in it and then tape another piece of tarp to the top and make a flap that would block the light from the holes.

I love that idea If I had a small setup like that I could grow from april till november we get lots of sun in colo.
however due to financial restrictions I am stuck with the shed thing.
It does have 2 layers of 4 mill black poly maybe I can build a flap baffle system, I have to have total darkness as you know they are picky about that. maybe convection flaps is the key?

7/23 flower day 3 another good night.
I have decided to name these three they are
1 the indica is named bubbles
2 the lighter green more sativa widow is buttercup
3 and the darker green widow is blossom.
I am beginning to see the flower power on the rise with twice as many pistols as yesterday.
they are getting a full 12 hours of hot sun followed by a full 12 hours of pitch blackness.

Chop chop!
This morning I determined the best lower side shoot on the male and whacked everything else off. so now I have a big stick with one very green branch on it.
all three plants now have stems the size of a garden hose and Given that the indica is only 3.5 ft tall I will be getting some good yields.

on a positive note I am acquiring a 1000 watt halide for this winters indoor work.
and on a super positive note An old friend of mine found a bag of seeds we made way back in 85 or so we grew out 13 different varieties of colombian bag seed and came up with one pheno that was an early mostly indica with a hashy full bodied taste.we crossed this number thirteen with a known fantastic variety we called pueblo gold it was golden hashy delight. hence the variety p-13 was invented. the columbian gold landrace mom and the pueblo which is also an early finishing landrace create a finished product that if you let go till its done is totally reminiscent of the old school colombian gold slightly biting hashy earthy with a pungent aftertaste. yum yum. the only issue as I remember it was they were finicky slow growing and small. However in 1985 I had way less experience and I bet if I can get some germinated I can grow them out just fine.

did a super crop yesterday and the tops have already reoriented as well the side shoots are really beefing up,still early flower but already the hashy funky smell is coming off them. They seem to really like nector for the gods liquid bone meal it has beefed them up nicely. good stuff used sparingly

I would pinch all of that bottom growth if it were me.
Think of your main stalk like a freeway and the branches are side streets, all of the nutrients and water are the traffic. The more side streets there are before the good producing top buds the less traffic there is going to be to be able to reach the top. The bottom branches rarely produce anything usable unless you have side lighting so if you remove it then the plant naturally focuses that energy on the other better producing parts of the plant.
Looking nice!
