nothing..he does have scruples..a good doctor methinks..but more likely a financial reason behind his support...rather than heart felt empathy..nothing wrong with that at all just calling apples..apples. He is brilliant in most aspects..but he is not on a fee free mission to cure dysentary or choleria in 3rd world...he's selling his face and books. So tell me Dr.Phil is promoting cannabis and see how much I dig it or even care.

Talk about heartening, mainstreaming, all of it! While I still can't seem to find that *one* episode of Inside Man on MMJ, I can now also point to Dr. Gupta when I am questioned.

See, I'm out of the closet. When I saw that monologue by Bill Maher calling pot use the new homosexuality, in terms of how we hide ourselves, I thought, What the fuck am I doing? I speak out openly on behalf of every homosexual I know (and don't), why can I not speak on behalf of myself? Well, I can speak for myself, thank you very much, but it's also helpful to have others speak for me.

I'm out of the closet, I'm tired of hiding.

I wish I could come out but I have kids that I fear will be taken away by my ex.. I envy those liberated enough to do so..

THIS.

Medical marijuana is a cause celeb that's been pushed BY the people, often in the face of direct resistance from the media. In America as in few other places around the world, we get our information already prefiltered through the court of public opinion. It's easy to write sensationalist articles that pander to the public's prurient interest, it's harder to write forward thinking social commentary.

25 years ago, I was dumb enough to write an op ed in the Arkansas Democrat, a fine, upstanding institution of journalism, in defense of the then radical idea of self determination on the issue of marijuana use. I was even d uh mber to use my own name. I actually got a phone call from someone who threatened me with violence for speaking out for legalization.

Court of public opinion. Mob rule. Methinks they amount to... synonyms.
Perhaps when legalization or rescheduling comes, we can all come out of the closet and divulge our identities, be folk heroes of sorts..,many more will want to shake your hand and call to ask you out to dinner after smoking a big fattie. Then you can write to the newspaper and tell your story again of what you did for the cause before big Pharma took over lol.

I'll write it myself- thanks! My autobiography is going to be a real page turner; people will ask, 'wtf did this nutjob do NEXT?' and won't be able to put it down!

When that day comes I'll buy your book or swap you with mine about all the eye pokery I've done to public officials lol.

In all honesty this is another reason growers should be thinking ethics with spraying crap on their plants that is potentially harmful to people, especially those with weakened immune systems. One day they may be wishing they could bring their underground identity forward and I suppose some will be outed and say "on no that wasn't me spraying shit licensed only for ornamental plants on MMJ" . Personally when that day comes, I've got some pretty good references under my belt, Cha Ching..$$$$$$ I've already had a couple Disp, grow offers i've turned down only for legal reasons as I'm sure many of you have as well.. When it goes legit by allowing us to continue cultivating or working for "the man", if it is "the man" controlling it to a large degree, it will be just like any other business,, Reputation, resume references.

Really aren't we all just in purgatory right now waiting for the shoe to fall, the gunshot to sound the race has begun. I know many will say it already has, but i'm talking about entrepreneurial freedom that doesn't come with a 10-20 year pricetag in the clink.. Right now it's two steps forward one step back. We just have to look to history, silicon valley, the dot com explosion,, worst case scenario it's handed to the big boys,, they need experts, it's the Apple story. Be cool to have a thread about the What if's after re scheduling.

Can you imagine the party we could have like a big class reunion only many you never met face to face, logging into our accounts to prove who we are,, fucking be great..

What I want to know is. Did anyone catch the part when he went to the University Of Mississippi, and the guy running this operation gave Sanjay a bud and said it was 36% THC? What strain was that and where do you find this :)

Their crushed fan leaves were 8%. I dont fuckin think so.
The crushed leaves and that midgrade 36% thc bud was ridiculous. Other than that I think it was positive.

I wasnt expecting that program to be so tear-jerker. I made my mom and her husband watch it, my mom liked it but her husband was just poker faced the whole time. Not a word out of him for an hour, he knows I grow weed but I dont normally shove it in his face like that. He cried too, lol!

I'm sure you can buy a clone from a kid in Cali who "totally guarantees!" you'll beat that number with his secret strain. For only $2500, on special cuz last week it was four grand...

I unfortunately missed the show, but maybe he just didn't have any good connections to find good herb. Or maybe he just had no idea where to start looking for good herb; he probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference between good herb and bad herb.

Dr. Gupta is not a pothead, that much is painfully clear. Yet, the larger message he's sending is better served by someone who does not come off as a stoner, it would hurt his credibility. Not with us- we know better!- but with those people who don't smoke, don't know, and definitely don't trust hippies and longhairs or anyone who sounds like they might be one of them.

I'll go a step further, though you are already on mark, and that is it's better coming from someone who was a stauch rival.. Kinda like how the air was taken out of the sails of anti climate change folks when the Kotch Brothers paid scientist, agreed with his colleges that the data was real after such a long holdout.

I must say it was one of, if not the best new stories I've seen on the subject and do not disagree with much of what I seen, besides the Scharlets web plant being a high priced Hemp. Boys get working on them hemp seeds, bet Monsanto has some ready to roll.. It has me thinking of stepping out of the shadows and telling my story.. With me, one phone call and in a week you'll be reading it in the associated press. I'm seriously considering, because of this show and the timing of it all. All I can say after watching the show is good on ya Sanje..

Glad you're on the precipice of something you have passion about. I have but one beef with your statement.. I don't think we should refer to high CBD strains as "Hemp". I do not know what your findings are, but that could be misleading, since any high CBD strain is chosen for it's profile per phenotype. Meaning, not every industrial hemp plant has a useable medicinal level of CBD's.

I think he's derisively comparing CBD only strains to hemp- because they supposedly won't get you high either, lol.

But every strain of hemp is less than 3% THC by what will be legal definition and that can be an extremely good thing growing Hemp for medical usage.. Why stop with CBD,CBN, but any number of the 600 compounds we can targe,, Where is the starting point for breeding. Low THC is going to be closer to hemp IMHO. I have solid archival data from U.S kentucky hemp fields, fields of our founders that have hemp ranging in height from 4 to 20 ft. 7 foot average is some fields. Sure there is a lot of variance to breed. Hemp to me does not mean fiber exclusive uses, and of course like any strain not "every" plant type is the same for profile. So you disagree that hemp has medicinal applications becasue this Charetts web came from those conversations of hemp having medicinal value..

So you would argue that strains high in CBD, CBN and extremely low THC should be considered by law to be Marijuana? Seems like a play on words for marketing purposes, what definitions have taken meaning since the 1700's.. Funny that Charetts web wasn't moving at all at the Disp... Bet if someone got busted growing a room full of that they would claim it to be hemp? I know I would Lol. There is another reason I won't discuss openly about as well with regards to Monsanto and the industry on the verge of a comeback..
