Hey CC they're starting to put the weight on now huh? :-) You'll have upload shots after the weekend to see how much growth the promised good weather adds. Looking very nice.

ooh ooh oooh can I play when you guys do the LST outdoor showdown?

Or does my beautiful California weather disqualify me? =p

lol I don't know that i'm going to get the chance to do much LST but maybe forced to out of necessity.

Of course you can join in! It'd be unfair of us to disqualify you for having the misfortune to be born in California rather than our damp, grey isle.

Look forward to learning something new hopefully!

Hey Canna...your plants look GREAT bro! You seemed to handle the mishap well and she's made a nice recovery! Congrats! I find the "green plant tape" to be indispensible! When a break like that occurs, you can literally just tape it back together, wrap tape around the stalk and forget about it! I'm not sure if the stuff has a formal name, but it's been a gardening staple for many years, so it's not hard to find.

I'm not an outdoor guy, but I don't think your plants will veg til September. The light doesn't necessarily have to get all the way down to 12 hours for the plant to begin flowering. My guess is that you'll see pistils long before then! Things are looking great, bro! Keep up the good work!

Best,

Max :wacky:

Update as of yesterday ...

What more is there to say other than taller and bushier?!

According to weather reports, our little corner of the planet is in for some clear sunny weather for the next week so i'm gonna give plenty of water to my potted girls and hopefully see them put on some nice growth.

Trust me, it's only my plants that appreciate it. I'm originally from Washington, the Seattle area, which probably rivals the UK for dreary weather. I miss it.

I expect the learning will go both ways! Best of luck to you. My thread is here in the outdoor section, and I have a few pictures of the lower plant structure that I think are pretty cool.

You know Washington State looks stunning from what I've seen of it. I really would love to live there, I love the Pacific NW of America the most I think but then again I am a tree man by trade so I guess it would appeal to me.

Thanks for stopping in, and I'll be sure to tune into to what you've got going on. You never can learn too much after all.

Hello again Max!

Thanks for having a look. These ones were only really an experiment to be honest. I've never expected much from anything outdoor produced here but wondered what you could actually achieve.

I'm pretty much leaving it up to nature in the main. Last year all I did was water the plants with rain water, a literally natural grow, not a single chemical, except for the ones in our shitty rain ;)

This time i'm just going to use a simple veg and flower food accordingly.

You've got to be right about the veg time. It would be a truly mental plant if left that long to grow!

If you like trees, you should come out to NorCal sometime and check out the redwood forest.

Your ladies are looking lovely. Sun for a week you said? In the UK? No rain at all? Did you buy a lotto ticket? =P

It's a dream to come out and visit California. I will get there one day and when I do i'm not going near Hollywood and LA. I much prefer the wooded and costal areas. I'd love to start there and drive up the west coast doing Seattle, Oregon, Washington etc.

Thanks for the compliment, but as I said to Max, i'm really not doing much, so I can't take any real credit. Apart from preparing the bed for the ones in the ground, all I do is give them a little veg nutes 2 maybe 3 times a week.

And as for that sun, well, it's just not stopped shining! Something is up somewhere as this has lasted over a week now and if weather reports are to be believed it's here for the duration of the month!

So, plenty of water for my girls in pots and we should see some real growth explosion!

One of my Frisians is over 6ft tall already! I'll try and put something in the photos for perspective next time.

Wow Canna...those are looking great, bro! I'm glad you included the chair this go round! I didn't realize they were that nice! That spot of good weather you're having seems to be paying off, and I hope it continues for you! I've got a friend who used to grow them like that in his back yard. He'd go to a craft store and purchaser these incredibly real looking fruits and veggies (tomatoes, etc.) and wire them to his plants with a twist tie. From a distance, nobody would ever guess what they are. Haha! Yours remind me of his! Great job man...keep up the great work!

Best,

Max :wacky:

A quick update.

All still growing strong. Probably a little too strong in fact.

Since the last update, two weeks ago or so, the Frisian in the bed sky rocketed. Three days ago it stood at over 8ft. You could literally sit and watch that girl grow it was going so fast.

I couldn't risk detection by letting it grow unhindered so I've taken the top 1ft and a bit out of it and am now going to maintain it there. The two Biddys next to it are almost the same height too so once they are i'm going to keep them there also.

My potted ladies are doing just dandy too. Filling out nicely and still putting on height just nothing like the bedded plants though.

New pics soon!

Thanks Kebz, all seems healthy so far. I just hope the sun shines a bit more than last year and that the rain isn't so persistent!

So, a bit of an update from the pictures posted last. This latest round were taken a couple of days ago. Since the previous we've had a spell of nice hot sunny weather which has recently turned cooler bringing with it some rain. During the hot spell I was able to feed them a couple of times with some basic NPK nutes.

Perhaps i'm wrong with this but I don't get in there and feed them when there is rain about. I wait until it's been dry a few days and then hit them with the feed coupled with a nice drink. They seem to really respond to this as hopefully you'll be able to see -

Same order as before, Biddy 1 and 2, then my Frisian that's in the bed and then one of the potted Frisians.

Thanks Wiggles ... yeah they're really starting to thrive now! We've had a bit of rain and then some blazing sunshine at the latter end of this week. I fed them once since the last update and I think there's been a noticable amount of growth.

Hello everyone!

Sorry for being a bit slack with the updating recently. I've had a holiday to go on plus some other things happening so haven't been in much.

The girls are doing fantastic!! My three Frisians are flowering and when I checked on them yesterday I think my two Biddys have started also. The Frisians are probabltwo weeks in now and smell delicious. So much so that i'm concerned that as the buds fatten i'm gonna stink out a good square mile lol

We truly have been lucky this year with our summer. It's still blazing at around 24C with no change in sight as of yet so hopefully a nice sunny autumn will get the buds fat and sticky.

Here's my Frisian that I planted directly into the ground. This bitch was over 8ft around a month ago and I had to top it by about two feet. I think it would've gone to around 10ft if left and that's just too much of a beacon to leave sticking out like that. Shame, but it still stands at over 7ft and the bud sites are plenty!!

Here's some flower shots from the Frisians also -

And last, but not least, the two Biddy Earlys that have started flowering this week

Back on top of things now so check back for more bud shots as these babies develop.

Thanks for looking and for your comments!

Lol 2-3 days! You must live in Cornwall ;) Been seriously lucky this year though.

I think it's a bit of a common misconception that you can't grow good outdoor cannabis in our climate. The few people i've told i'm doing it were shocked most by the fact that it actually grows and flowers here. I try to tell them that it isn't a tropical plant but they seem unconvinced nevertheless.

Also, I think a lot of people leave it too late in getting them outdoors. I started growing mine at the end of March indoors and as soon as the last frost of the year f**ked off they were straight outside to toughen them up as early as possible.

In my limited experience I think that's the trick, getting them out ASAP! A lovely summer will give you better results, obviously, but even last year with our shitty summer, I still pulled in a good, smokable harvest.

Thanks for all the love on the thread too Spacebomb it's very much appreciated!
