The smell of the cure then the smell after final trim oooh weee....I dry with sugar leaves only then final trim right before jarring at a moisture level which glands dontbgobflying everywhere with every snip( you can see this with naked eye trimming under a blue flo) if indeed glands are flying everywhere I add a lil moisture back in then trim go to the jar and burp for two weeks

WHy trim it at all?

Provide it untrimmed at a discount. Let the patients trim their own meds.

I love that!...I wish we could do that!
:)
When its Cookies You(me/I) don't have to trim
Unless you want all thos frosty sugar leaves for your own head;)
Other strains, I usually leave a lot of sugar leaves and do final last minute trim depending on who im donating the bag to.:p

Explain to me how hanging a full plant with leaves on it to dry Takes up less space then hanging branches that are fresh trimmed with no leaves on them.

Ughhhh, because a whole plant (for me) takes up roughly a 3'x3' area. Hanging trimmed bud, would take up prolly 2-3 lines running 12 ft. long. I guess it's not so much space as it is hanging lines and then hanging 100 friggin branches all over, compared to hanging a plant in one spot for 7-10 days then taking it down, having it trimmed in a couple hours and put in jars to finish drying/re-wetting/drying over the next week. Plus when I trim wet, it seems when I close trim buds, my scissors have to be scraped every few buds and I can never get close enough as well. When I used to trim wet, I usually had to re-trim when it was dry because it's just a lost cause trying to trim small buds or airy buds when wet. And if your argument is that your trees are so great you don't have small or airy buds ever, than good for you, I do. Lol.

I've done just about every dry/technique there is, as I think most of us who have been growing for a long time have. I have found a way that worx best for me and I always get dank smelling buds with zero damage to the trichs. .....I pull fan leaves wet and depending on how leafy and frosty the strain is, how I'm going to trim the bud leaves, if it's a real leafy plant I will trim wet so when the bud contract during the dry I'm not stuck with extra leaf inside. If the bud leaves are frosty I'll just leave them on so they dry as part of the bud. Then I hang whole branches on a wire line and slow dry, when the get a tad crisp on the outside I use black trash bags to start the cure while they are still on the branches on the line, no stupid jar bs, I just group sections of branches together and pull the bags up over the bud and tie a knot at the top, i might have 10 large groups with bags over them down the line. I keep opening and closing them for however long it take to get that breakdown of starches and get them evenly dry,,, when they are good I snip them off and into giant 5gal glass jars.....and they don't need to be burped at all....they just sit and get better...they always smell great, and still look like a quality bud without the flat spots and having to pull out mushy buds to air dry 10 times a day everyday..jars are ok I your doing 1 plant I guess, but to be honest I laugh when I see these guys with 50 plants and a skid of tiny ass mason jars that they have to burp....lamo....the funniest part is that after all that work (if they pull it off) the buds are not top shelf shit...

I agree with this 100%. I am definitely going to possibly steal your garbage bag cure idea. Top notch thinking my friend. I also believe fan leaves are acceptable to trim wet as they don't provide for the buds nearly as much as smaller leaves and more importantly the stem does.

Yea bro, I've been doing it this way for years....it takes all the guesswork and stupid nonsense out of the dry/cure and turns it into one easy step....it even results it better looking, tasting & smelling buds every time with less headaches ......I should really make a step by step with pics that include all the correct information eg. room temp, humidity and approximate bag timing because I can't even tell you the number of growers I've guided through my method that were harvesting nice dank bud only to loose it with incorrect drying techniques.....very sad......to be honest it makes me wonder sometimes who the hell writes those grow books !!!! Every single grow book I've ever read had some silly bs cure method, some just flat out have no clue what they are talking about, all of which suck..def not the type of info I would expect from people that claim to be 40 year "master growers". Ha yea ok....if they have not learned how to dry & cure in 40 years, well that's prob why they write books and leave the growing to us......

I, too, really dig the contractor bag idea. All you really have to do if the plants are too big for a single bag is break 'em into thirds or so.

Yep, and they make giant 50 gallon bags which have been more then enough for indoor plants......the store also sells giant paper bags made for leaves in the fall, I use those if I want to bag them really early because i trim by myself,,,,the bag soaks up water and I you don't have to breath it as much, it gives you time to get everything done without over drying or mold...it all depends on my room temps and humidity......I dry/cure lots of bud myself and never over dry with my method and the buds look and smell amazing when done,,,,they are true top shelf worthy.....

I've done the jar method,,,,its crazy and makes getting good bud near impossible,,,not to mention you wanna kill yourself after the first burping session...the bud loses is shape and that method is the reason so many new growers bud smells like hay, tossing wet buds into 100% airtight environment makes bacteria populations rapidly multiply....

Once people understand what is happening to the flower as they cure, and what the goal is,,,,there are many tools and methods to achieve a proper cure...
