Naw...I been using his "Hai Karate" cologne. You think they're closing their stomatas and going into stress whenever I enter the room? Whew...that was some stinky shit! Haha. Thanks bro...I can really use the Karma!

Ain't it tho, BigMa? Sure bro...anytime you need a stud for your breeding program...apparently...I'm the dude to see! I kinda dismissed what you said at first about the "demonized" equipment. I was thinking, no...all my shit is in great working condition (it's all brand new) and I was pretty confident I had everything where it needed to be. But I kept thinking about it, and it gnawed on me all day at work yesterday. So I came home and re-checked everything and found two issues that could be causing my probs...

1. The power strip in the tent has a red and green light that show power on/off status. It's been in the tent...just a glowin'...all night every night! Last run I had it covered with a piece of black duct tape, but I changed out the strip when I switched fans between runs, and didn't think to tape it back! I never even noticed it!

2. The tent has a flap on the side that is leaking light. Not allot, but it sure could play a role in this! It doesn't take much light to really screw things up!

I fixed both these issues, so hopefully that will do it! I really think the Orange x Pineapple hermied becuase of the temp spike when my HVAC went out, though. It was while they were in early veg, and I didn't know it was out until I got home from work. The thermometer showed that the temp had gotten up to 97f. What I don't know....is how long it was up that high. I couldn't have been too long, because they were fine when I ran home at lunch. But, they could have been in that heat for 3-4 hours, worst case. I really feel this is what caused the problem. I think the others were just luck of the draw.

BigMa...I wanna thank you bro! If you hadn't suggested that, I might have never gone back and re-checked. If I hadn't, it would have certainly hurt overall performance at best...and caused hermies at worst. I'm VERY glad to have those issues fixed. Thanks again, bro! Also...I appreciate your very kind words! not sure they're deserved, but...

With all those males showin up theres gotta be a line of sexy bitches waiting to pop for you right around the corner bro...I feel it! Hang in there and keep the faith bro you'll fill that tent up with girls yet. MGG

I'm absolutely counting on it bro!!! Hold that good feelin' man! Gonna need that karma very soon! I decided that if the bitches wanna play a numbers game...LET'S PLAY!!! I just planted 8!!! Haha, watch them ALL come up female now and I'll be overrun! I'll take that problem over this shit any day tho!!!

So, right now we're popping...

(4) Orange X Pineapple (ROC) - I'm on a fuckin' quest for that Pineapple pheno. I want the same pheno as the male I had. It was the best smelling plant I've ever smelled!
(2) Blueberry (D.J. Short)
(1) Grape Romulan (ROC) - 3 strikes left. Using one of them here. PRAY!!!
(1) Chocolope (DNA) - These are fem beans, so if I fuck these up...I'm quitting!

(4) bluhxbx2blu X romulan (ROC) - These are vegged and about to show sex any minute. As soon as they do...it's new shoes and the flip soon!

That's a pretty damn nice line-up IMO! I don't think I've ever had this level of quality genetics all going at once. The ROC gear is still just impressing the hell out of me...despite the issues I've had. I don't blame any of that on the gear! ROC's work is about as good as it gets! I can't wait to see how excited & impressed I'll be when I do get some gals!

Thanks for stopping by ya'll!

Best,

Max :wacky:

I was trying to think of the name of the cologne that was real popular when I was in high school. It was "Brut"! That was some loud shit! LMAO...the entire 11th guys grade all smelled the same! :wtf:

Ahhh. some dj BB and chocolope invited to the party!.. Good luck my brother.. Try some Jade East, or English Leather.. I'm still an Aqua Velva Man!.. Best.. Donny Pep's

Yeah D.P., I told ya I'd never be able to hold out! :hungry: The BB has been on my dream list for years and the chocolope was callin' out to me too! MGG says his chocolope is a lanky bitch, but a great yielder. I didn't know when we ordered these that they're 95% sativa!!! That ought to make things interesting in the tent! How's your "Jack Herer-In-The-Beanstalk" doing? Isn't she about ready to come down? How tall did she wind up getting at the finish?

I knew you would get to pop'n!..lol.. I Finally chopped that beast at 12 weeks.. I'm hanging her now.. Nice cola, but seems very fluffy.. but has nice sticky buds, and somewhat greenish minty smell.. That DP BB outside smells amazing bro.. blueberrys, lemon and lavander, .. I have a small test bud thats been hanging for a few days now.. Think I'll go check on it!.. I'll be tuned in bro.. Best..

Well, I figured something like this would happen...

It looks as if all 4 of my bluhzbx2blu are gonna be female! ;) Bout time, huh? This really makes me feel better about things, I was beginning to think it was something I wasn't doing right! I just up-potted them last night, and they're healthy and happy young GALS! (Yay!)

Bluhz

Now...watch the 8 beans I just planted all turn out to be female! That's JUST FINE by me! Oh...and by the way...I planted the seeds on Thursday night, and they are all either up, or peeking out this morning (Sunday). Actually...most of them were up by last night, so that's almost 100% germination within 24 hrs! Ahhh...gotta love killer genetics!

Thanks for all you're support and well-wishes! I attribute this win to the incredible Karma you've all been sending my way! Thanks all!

Best,

Max :wacky:

Fuck yeah! Glad to see things are lookin better and lots of sluts are showin up at the Maxy Pad. They look great man. I'll be watchin bro. MGG

Thanks bro! I appreciate that! You set the bar pretty high on the ROC gear! I've got a lot to live up too! But yeah...the sluts are here! let the party begin!!

Send them extra skanks this way bro.. How many dj's ya got going?.. congrats!..

Looks like I'll probably have a few! I'll have them all vegged and waiting on ya! Right now, I've got two of the D.J. BB's. I'll probably go through all of them in the next 4 or 5 runs looking for that one special lady! I'll take cuts of the best each round and then replace it when/if a better one comes along. Same with the ROC gear. I want to get to where I'm not dependent on seed unless I want to add a new strain. It's a process...

Thanks for droppin' in guys!

Max

Guys...just had to let you know...all the mass Karma you've sent me over the past few weeks has taken root! Thanks to the power you've given me...

 I can now raise the dead!!! o_O

Haha...Last few times I've cracked gear, I've lost one or two to what I believe is "damping off". I've never really had anything like this before, and I'm not too sure what causes it, or how to cure it. This has only happened to me with strains that are in the blue family. I lost one of ROC's Grape Romulan beans to this, and also a Blueberry that Don Peppy so generously gifted me a short time ago. Now...I plant two of the D.J. Short Blueberry's, and damned if it doesn't happen to it too! The other BB bean has so far been unaffected.
The really good news is that I gave her a tiny shot of water with a drop of Hydrogen Peroxide before work this morning, and within 20 mins, the little thing was standing back up! I just checked on her and she's still with us! She's made it all day, so I have hope for her. I'm really rooting for the little gal. To see her like this...

Down

and then to see her standing again gives me hope! I googled "damping off remedies marijuana" last time this happened, and a thread somewhere recommended the peroxide as a fix. When I tried it last time, it didn't seem to help. This time it did the trick! If she's still chugging along in the morning, I'll grab a pic and post it up. The stem is still darker and redder than the others, but otherwise she looks OK.

Does anyone know what causes this, and how to prevent it? Also...has anyone heard of the blue family being more susceptible to this? I'm very curious since it's only affected my blue strains, and other strains right beside them weren't bothered at all.

Thanks in advance!

Best,

Max :wacky:

I've only had a problem when I tried using a covered dome and heating pad under some towels for germ.. They looked good for about three days, and then they just plopped over.. I Don't think any were blue strains.. I thought it was some kind of stem rot.. Not sure whats happing bro.. Hope ya get a grip on it.. More Special K for ya.. Donny P

What up Maxx...yea...some of them purple girls will show a little finicky hooplaa early sometimes...if your problem continues change your soil mix first...what ever you may be using could carry this on for sometime...ask me how I know...lol...I'd never thought it was "me dirt"...I bought some store stock with little holes in the sack from shipping...been stored outside in the rain on pallets...oops...I never buy anything with the slightest holes now...lost a lot of seed because of...here's something I copied and pasted sometime ago, from somewhere,...lol... that got me on a pretty successful route on germ rates...most of these I'm sure you've covered with your skill level and grow experience...the highlighted made the difference for me...a thing of the past now...you gonna have to open a whore house soon with all them girls getting ripe for flower .....we complain when there's too many ladies... and hope for it at the same time...go figure huh?....a problem that we seem to manage regardless...hehehe...you been in a male battle for a few now...take this zombie episode as that unexplainable "miracle karma"...that little seedling will be something special for ya hopefully...some peeps add peroxide to every germ for prevention...nothing wrong with that...kinda like a extra safety chain if your seed stock may be few of a particular favorite that's no longer available...some good looking ladies you got coming up...Karma to ya bro...you'll win the battle....now go get us that winning lottery ticket....my confidence still holds for ya...B

DAMPING OFF

This gentle term describes the death of seedlings by fungal disease, either before or after they emerge from the pod. This sudden plant death can happen for up to four weeks after seeds are started. It actually describers a few different fungal diseases carried in soil or seed. These fungi can survive for years or forever in soil, and are found in all soil outdoors.

Causes:

overwatering
unsterile soil
dirty growing containers
overcrowding seedlings
stress, such as low light, cool temperatures

Symptoms:

Seeds don’t germinate: they may have rotted underground
Sudden wilting or discolouration
seedling falls over: stem bends at soil level
roots of diseased plant are black or brown

Prevention:

Clean growing conditions.
Clean containers yearly
use sterile soil mixes.
Water seedlings from the bottom of their containers...religiously follow this
Avoid overwatering...if you can mash water from the soil it is too wet....I was so guilty of this one...lol
Don’t plant seeds too deep
Soil with a low pH: commercial starter mixes average 5.5 pH...this was a surprise also when I checked...guess what...so was mine...I've since changed to pro mix and correct/check before planting
Good ventilation: moving air
Use a soil-less starting mix, such as a peat moss/vermiculite mix.
Plant seeds in soil, but cover with sand instead of soil....this works great...try it

Hey bro...WOW!!! :woot: Super information Bigma! I'm taking bets on it being the soil at this point! I'm using Happy Frog for starts right out of the bag. It has holes all up and down both sides of the bag (breathing holes). I always thought they were put in there at the factory, and that they're necessary. My FFOF has the same holes. I don't know if I can even get it with no holes. I'm having to drive close to 100 miles right now to find any at all! I've never had this problem before, and it's been with this same bag of soil every time. It's also lousy with fungus gnats! Every time I run a new batch...in a couple of days, fungus gnats are everywhere. They usually die off pretty much before they're ready to flip, and haven't seemed to be affecting much...but hell, maybe they're even part of the problem.

When I watered the veg gals a while back, I noticed what looked like dandruff in the run-off water. Tiny, tiny white "flakes" were all in the water, then I happened to notice that they were all grouping up together and congregating! I grabbed my trusty scope and was able to check them out up close & personal! Here's what I saw...

001

That is what I believe is fungus gnat larvae. (I fuckin' hope that's what they are and I'm not infected with some other critters)! If that's what these are, the little fuck-tards are down in the rhizosphere just chompin' away on my roots! I haven't been treating for the gnats, but maybe I should! Advice greatly appreciated!

I've never just watered seedlings from the bottom, but that's an easy fix if it helps, and is easy to implement! (We likes it when shit is easy to implement)! ;) So...I'll ditch this bag of soil, treat for the gnats & start watering from the bottom. We'll see if that helps! Again...thanks so much for the info, bro! Also...that's a killer tip on using sand to germ! I can't wait to try that. Hmmm...should I go ahead and start more seeds? LMAO!!

Oh..and for the record, the little BB that was down has recovered fully (so far). she's standing tall and looking good! The bad news is that the Chocolope has gone down, and so far I've been unable to revive her. How strong can I apply the peroxide? I've only been adding a couple of drops to like a 1/4 cup of water...then pH to 6.5. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks again SO MUCH, Bigma! It's mucho appreciated!!!

Best,

Max :wacky:

P.S. I'm having a blast with the usb microscope, and I highly recommend them as a valuable tool and a fun toy! They give you the most accurate, clear pics of your trics when you're trying to decide on your harvest time, and it's helped me to diagnose allot of things I would never have even noticed before! It's so easy to grab a pic with it too! They only cost like $40, and has been WELL worth the bux! Also...it's turned me on to a whole new world I never knew existed! Ultra cool when you're baked!

Thanks for the confidence too! I'll pick up that ticket and notify you from Jamaica when we've won!!!

Yeah I'm having a little gnat problem myself , I just ordered some neem oil and it should be in tomorrow. But I don't think they really cause a problem
