Ok I went through some old photo albums and found a few old pics from back in the day lol, the first 4 are in march of 82, thats when I started my outdoor crop, It was all bag seed from weed I had bought as a kid, I was only 17 at this time and this was my first successful harvest :), there was a mixture of sativa's and indacas in there........GM

Love it man. If youre like me finding old photos like those bring back some very vivid memories of good times. Thanks for sharing bro. MGG

Ok these last pics are from 81, unfortunately these plants got whipped out buy wood rats about a week after I took these pics, witch fucked me good that year cause thats all I had, that was my first valuable lesson on growing was keeping ur plants safe from rodents, deer and cattle lol O and dont make fun of the Merical Grow and fish emulsion, we dident have much to choose from back then

Thanks, I dont know what u would consider a guerrilla grow but this was in a very thick brushy area around water, when u grow outdoors u want as much cover as possible..........GM

Oh boy. I am close to your age group, but I didn't start 'growing' until a couple of years ago. However, I love the stories as I probably imbibed in many of your reapin of the harvests.

Here's something random I thought was appropriate for this thread...

These are the books my 64 yr old father learned to grow with back in '69... He gave them to me as kind of a 'souvenir'/gift a few years ago when he realized I was obviously following in his footsteps.

LOL Dank..See Pot grow.. I mean Spot.. It reminds me of the old Dick & Jane books..

They're hilarious to look through too... especially with how much information is at our fingertips these days. When my father gave them to me, I glanced thru them and asked him "you really learned how to grow using these things?!"... and his reply was "Yup. We didn't have the internet. The only thing we had is High Times and these kinds of books...which weren't easy to find back then either."

Love those old books man. I've got a huge bin of magazines and books goin back to the late 80's. Gotta love that kinda shit. Peeps startin off now have it sooooo much easier than back then. Not sure about the other fellas but I had to basically learn from trial and error. Dint really have any books at the time so relied on what I learned growin up on a farm and the mistakes I made. Ahhh those were good times. MGG

What a cool thread, bro! I don't know how I've missed this one! Haha...no old polaroids unfortunately. I'm older than you, but while you guys were rockin' the Miracle Grow outdoors, I was creating "literally thousands of budsites" with my one & only original PHOTOTRON!!! Tried the first round with their nutes and moss medium, but quickly gave up on that, put in a single pot of soil and grew my first successful plant! Before that, I burned up a few 2 ft tall seedlings with 40 watt incandescents! LMAO! This really brings back allot of old (and wonderful) memories. I had some buds who were pretty successful outdoors, so always had access to their homegrown. Sometimes it was decent and sometimes tasted like hay. Back in those days, if someone offered you a bag of "homegrown" it was just leaf with no bud anywhere in sight. My...how far we've come, huh? Great thread idea! Best, -Max :wacky:

The best weed book I ever bought was called A Childs Garden of Grass, I have 3 copies including an original first publish run. I'll look for them, they are so funny.

Hey woods...that sparked a memory! I had an old gf that used to have an lp (that's a vinyl record album for all you youngsters!) by the same name. It was hilarious. If this is the same one I'm thinking of, it had one track that was about "cool things to do when stoned" and there were rhymes as well. I think I actually remember one. They all started off with "How 'Bout Them..." and then there were allot of different ones. "Sticker-pickers" & "Moose-goosers" were two I can remember. I'll try this from memory...

How 'bout them Moose-goosers, ain't they obtuse?
Down in the boondocks, goosin' them moose!
Goosin' them huge moose, goosin' them tiny...
Find yourself a meta-moose, and goose him in the hiney!
If you wanna be a moose-gooser, don't be recluse!
Just get your gooser loose, and rouse a drowsy moose!

 Haha...can't believe I actually remember that! If it's the same album, I think there was also a hilarious song on there titled:
"You Stomped Upon My Heart...And Mashed That Sucker Flat". (...Darlin' you just sorta...tromped on my aorta)! Funny shit when you were baked!

This may not be the same thing woodsmaneh. I never heard of it being in print. But it's definitely the same title and the artwork looks similar, so who knows! Cool stuff in either case. Thanks for sharing! Best, -Max :wacky:

I can't touch that one Maxx...you sampling that Sky Kush...lol...but I do remember that we always thought you wanted to pick it and smoke before it started that hair/balls sprouting stuff from the stalk thingy..we would knock um down soon as they started to set not knowing...never knew about buds...lol...we smoked some damn good male plants and zagged leaves back in the day too...nuts and all...hehehe...chew the stalk a bit...get it all...we were doing it...uh...or we thought...B
