Like any other industry, over saturation of product in the market will trim the margins more and MMCs will either align themselves with, buy, or be bought out by other MMCs. I would not want to be one of a few corporate MMCs left supplying 100 or more shops across the state. Talk about the feds putting a big stick up someone's ass..

i've sold pot retail in Ned. It's nearly all tourist biz. During winter, shit…… it's like trying to sell sand at the beach. In the summer, it's a pocket tumor.

I haven't seen the numbers lately but the first quart of 2013 the 3 operating mmc claimed a gross revenue of $10,000.

Other than the touristos and some very slow/dense folks/folks with no friends, I think the majority of stoners here already have a hook and won't be filling these coffers. Folks like me will give it away to friends before they let them buy it for (more) than street price and pay a huge tax to the fucktards at the State. Either way...it's a first...and some folks always migrate to "first"....so sales will boom...then fall off as folks smoke the crap bud for $350 a z and start asking their neighbor if they have any weed for sale. LOL.

^^^agreed, Sky. I do think folks will venture into shops to at least check them out, much like the drinkers will go visit a new night club. It remains to be seen if there will be decent buds mass-produced for pot tourists, but I'm betting most of everything will be Beaster-quality at best, much like the MMCs. There are some good ones, but few and far between, in my opinion.

I know a few guys around town who sell a few zips here and there for 200, qps are around 600 or so. Pretty much top shelf, so why would anybody buy from a shop?????
Once they, the state, figure that out what then?????

Wondering what kind of paper work you will have to fill out along with personal info. Probably just like a med shop. Get your drivers license out so the feds can start tracking you. I would like to visit a few retail shops just to see what is going on as far as merchandising, advertising and the other details of running a business. Helps to know the competition as well as the final $ of a zip.

I know what business was like for me when I was open. These were numbers provided to the task force i sat on writing the recreational regs in town, I think it accurately reflects the sales for 3 winter months. On the other hand 2 grow stores in town sell well in excess of a million per year, this is a town of 1400.

Same story in any tourist driven town in Colorado. Lot of people on the range don't understand the summer influx of people out here, they don't see it. Shit, you wouldn't know if an extra 200,000 people showed up in Denver for a month. Those 200,000 out in the mountains (all of it), it's a big deal.

Met some tourist fisherman from New York last spring on the river. They were amazed at how friendly we are in Colo. some other fisherman over on the frying pan turned them on to some bugs and they slayed the fish.
I shared a dube with them showed them some nuggies they were amazed, told em go ahead keep the sack fellas on me have a great time...they instantly offered to pay, do you know whats this worth in NYC???
told just get high and catch fish...They could not believe it as they smoked their last dube last night.
Another time was camping in the gorge on a float trip. A raft with 3 fisherman set up camp downriver about 1/2 mile.
Was shrooming so I decided to visit them. They were sitting around drinking and smoking weed, I fired up got them all good and baked. I whipped out the jar of mushrooms and asked Shrooms anybody?????
One fella said fuck yea, the other no way, they all ended up doing them. I sat around for awhile then left....
Next day we met them at the take out and was told they all got so baked they barely held on for awhile then had a blast..........

Sorry one more story before chores...
Was camping in the gorge and upon return to camp from morning fishing some fella from Kentucky set up right next to us, no worries we were leaving anyway. Miles of river but he set up 50 feet from us. Was mid morning and I was already shroomin pretty good. We were standing around and I asked him where's you food? He said all I got is some sardines and crackers. Told him that's no good a mans got to eat. I went to our cooler and grabbed a jar of home canned peaches in lite syrup. His hand were full so I spoon fed him huge globs of peach with the juice dripping down his chin and neck, With a mouthful he said thanks, but I kept shoveling it in, my friends were rolling on ground, laughing side splitting funny.
That fella did not know what the hell was wrong with those guys...
