I thought I would post this to help people save some money. I use H&G base nutes, specifically Cocos A and Cocos B but the additives are way too expensive. I do use two additives like Top Booster and bud XL. I seem to run out of the H&G additives too quickly. I use these equivalent substitutes and they work just as well if not better and they are cheaper, last longer.
House & Garden
Multizen and Amino Treatment= Botanicare Vitamino and Dyna Gro ProTekt Silica.
Roots Excelurator and
Algen extract= Seaweed (Growmore seaweed 5ml or (beneficial Biologics kelp logic 1tsp) Humic acid enough for 5 gallons. Beneficial microbes, Great White, root bloom, capulators, ect, enough for 5 gallons. Sea Green 1 ml. 1 teaspoon of molasses. Mix all ingredients in 250 mls of water. Then use at 1/2ml-1ml per gallon.
Drip clean= 10mls White Vinegar per gallon
Magic Green= Natures Nectar Nitrogen 5-0-0 and Botanicare Fulvic acid. I only like spraying my leaves with organic matter. Salts tend to dry out the leaves and leave white salt residue .
Shooting Powder= Mother of all Blooms AKA MOAB
Been using H&G for 5 plus years,
top booster only use for one or 2 feedings for that week if 2, I'd feed once with
top booster then water the second watering of the week if I don't start using
shooting powder that same week. You'll notice after you use booster they drink a lot less.
Bud XL is your bloom agent, used throughout flower, I'd actually start using it start of week 2 in flower if not week one. You need to tweak their chart.
Moab is strong and can potentially make your flowers rattail or crown with house.
Shooting powder has been a lot more consistent, some people say it can mute the flavor but I've never had anyone say that to my face so I take that with a grain of salt.
Silica fills your stalks up which can make flushing an issue.
I started to discontinue the use of that a week or two into flower if that long.
Magic Green leaves a waxy residue, adjusts the ph on the surface of your leaves, hindering pests and mold I've found.
I've never replaced drip clean with vinegar, I've used SOS by Strata instead of Drip clean as an experiment. Benies in there, so when using that you discontinue the use of
Roots Excelurator. Only thing I add is Magnum by Humboldt for MG deficiency I've been experiencing lately.
I've been prepping for a
Canna Coco run next month to see if I can get equivalent results to under current. Been prepping for a total swap out to under current the past couple of months.
