I use humic acid as an additive. I tried to use Fulvic acid in my mix and I just kept burning my plants. Fulvic acid is powerful stuff, even at 1/4 strength, it was roasting my plants. I only foliar spray Fulvic with full organic N-P-K nutes. I just don't like salt on my leaves.
The humic acid helps uptake without burning my plants.

With Fulvic and humic, I only need to use 4mls of cocos A + B each per gallon for vegging 4 foot moms.Without it, I think I was using 8ml per gallon.

  • As a foliar spray, fulvic acidincreases the plant’s oxygen uptake capacity with an associated increase in chlorophyl production and an increase in the permeability of plant membranes, improving the uptake of nutrients.

I had a bottle of liquid karma I never used. It was recommended I hit it with the karma a week before I drop into flower. Last years Aqua Flakes top feed. Has humid acid in it.

Here's a great link on Fulvic acid.

I'll check that out. Bare root cutting are fubared. Ph dropped 4.5 a few days ago, they didn't like it. Slime is all over them, No roots yet, just stalks. I swapped out the water. Might do it again right now.
Rapid rooters are already busting roots, talk about backwards. Usually my bare roots pop off a lot quicker.

Omg I hate rapid rooters! They are expensive as hell and I get way better results in rockwool. My clones go straight from rockwool to coco in party cups. I bought so many of those rapid rooters. I have cloned every way under the sun.

Here's the secret to cloning. I will write a Tek on it later.
Rockwool
Cheap Powdered Rooting hormone
(Greenlight brand) Now discontinued
Clones root best at a PH of 6.3

Fuck Clonex
Fuck Rootech
Fuck cloning gel

I have put the cheap powdered rooting hormone against just about every cloning gel. The cheap rooting powder murders every brand of cloning gel out there.

The cloning gels cause stem rot! The powdered rooting hormone can NOT be sold at hydro stores. Walmart,Lowes,Homedepot carry the good stuff.

I used to use rock wool in hydro GH, one thing I would get is the algae on the top of the cube. Hated that
When i switched to promix H&G i would just clone str8 into the 4" Airpot with only gels.
Just this past year I have been using Rapid Rooters still using gels pretty solid outcomes, cuz over the past 2 years I probably ran close to 45 varieties.
I had only on one cut session used the dry powder u dilute that comes in a box with a little sample pot.(i don't remember the name or outcome)

@Delerium , this is how we do the Rapid Rooters/Root Riots, no matter what...

That sucks they came with bugs! You know Root Riots come with bennies in them right? Boiling them would kill the bennies but I guess in your case you had to. I used rapid rooters a lot longer than I have rockwool. I have not lost a clone since using Rockwool. I had all sorts of problems with rapid rooters, they were slow to pop roots as where my clones love rockwool. I always add bennies to my rockwool.

Here's my take on the rapid rooters. They hold too much water and can cause stem rot. When you squeeze them out to where they are the perfect moisture, they start drying out and pull away from the rooting stem of your clone. Rockwool, has none of those problems. They never hold too much water and they never pull away from the stem, you just need to keep them moist.
The cheap powder rooting hormone is some powerful crazy stuff, it will root a popsicle stick!

That is some messed up stuff, I wonder if rockwool has critters in there too.
I was curious how their shelf can be so long without molding. I have known people to keep them for months upon months on their shelves.
I need a new scope to look for them. Mine took a dump been using a loop for the past few months.

Nope never seen critters. Rockwool is completely dry, critters won't be in there. Rapid Rooters come premoist, bugs love that stuff. I don't know how bugs got into the rapid rooters because mine were sealed everytime. My hydro store did carry rapid rooters ala cart, they could have bugs that way.

A lot of times I wind up over watering the cubes. Then wind up under watering a flat because I wanted them to dry out a bit. Rapid rooters can become over saturated too. I have since stopped leaving standing water in the flats to stop from too much whicking.

I never leave standing water in my flats. The rockwool would wick that up and be water logged. You can't get mold or baddies if your stuff is always in the process of drying up. I love using heat mats because it helps evaporate water. I use NO dome and check on them once a day, I usually only have to give them water every 3-4 days.

Does anyone know why they took the good cloning powders off the market? Greenlight, Shultz Take Root? The really strong ones are not being made anymore. I wonder if I'm going to have to order from Canada or Europe now?

Been running a dome on the 2x4 this series of cuts with a 2x4 heat mat and adjustable temp controller. Those a kicking but, but my bare roots i fubared

Now i remember it was called Dip and Grow that I had used. Believe it is a liquid concentrate

Get on Amazon, they still have some !!!

I already ordered some :) That Greenlight is selling for $30 a bottle on ebay. It used to be $5-8.lol
In 6 months those two brands will be gone. I have found some other powders that are still around but I have yet to try them out.
Here's some intersting information I found. The rooting hormone that I have been using is 0.1% IBA. Tests found 0.3%IBA to work best but that was not for our beloved species. I need to check it out,
Iba

How does that table work. I understand that above ground should mirror the roots, how much I don't know.

Just look at the chart. You might be high. It reads left to right.
Rooting percentage 78%
Root mass 6.3
Above ground mass 4.4

It clearly shows that at 0.3%IBA the root mass has more mass than whats above ground.
