Ok farmers.....

Woke up this morning and felt jiggly and finally stepped up and tried the forbid 4f. I decided not to use the avid after ready very intensively about both products. The forbid seemed a lot more safe and less likely to stay in the plants. According to everything iv read it only stays on plants for up to 45 days. So even if sprayed before you put plants into bloom and took your plants 10 weeks there will be nothing present.

So I went to the store and got a respiratory mask, full chemical spray suit, chemical resistant gloves, full eye Goggles. I put on long pants, long sleeve shirt and latex gloves then but on the full suit and chem gloves on over it all. Even got little booties to go over my shoes. I have extreme anxiety so I took no chances.

Mixed up 1 ml get gallon and put it in a pump spray with an extension wand. Kicked off all the fans and inlines and sprayed the whole plants from as far back as possible making sure not to get any on myself at all. I must say I was so warm With all that shit on and not used to breathing through a respiratory mask it did kinda give me an anxiety attack which if you are someone with anxiety freaks you out on its own.... plus knowing your working with some deadly shit freaks you out even more lol

After spraying the plants in tents I zipped up all the tents and got the fuck out of there. Took off the suit And chem gloves and threw them right into the trash and stripped off all my clothes down to my boxers and threw them all in the trash and went right into the shower and raised and washed myself down for 30 minutes with cold water.

As of now I'm still alive! And I can honestly say I will probably not do a follow up Spray with it ever again lol.

My question to anyone who may know is how long before I can make contact with the plants I just sprayed down? A the sites I read up on said nothing about a time frame

Seems like there would be something on the label for that. Eagle 20 says to give it 24 hrs fwiw.
Word. Iv used eagle 20 before and it never got me as wigged out as this shit lol. only used one application of E20 and the mildew has never cam back and that was 2 years ago. I'm sticking to my guns with this one time only use of forbid.....gonna go get some sns217 if i do need to further spray. I would hope just a spinosad and neem after what I just went through should keep those fuckers away.....maybe even a bit of azamax here and there as a preventative. I'm gonna be one of those dudes who goes to buy a suit once the mites are gone just to wear over my clothes anytime I go into my plants rooms lol.
.....i never wanna have to deal with any pests ever again hahaha. What anytime pain in the ass!

24-36 hrs with the Forbid 4f that shit is Super Fucking Nasty Ass shit !!!, You will need to give them all an ACT Tea with Caps Bennies to get the good shit back on track, I think that Forbid will take care of your problem, but Yes SKM its nasty as Fuck, make sure you don't freak out if the plants start growing fucked up leaves, its going to make some plants stress, and some leave will be weird for sometime, have seen this 100 times when people use Strong sprayes, A dumb ass I know puts Avid and Floramite in the same sprayer together and now has Super mites that AVID and Floramite won't kill...

Damn!....i covered them pretty well. I didn't hit the bottom side of the leafs as I read forbid is translaminar so it will go through the top and effect to bottom side. Also read that in fact it is not systemic....kinda wild.

Thanks for the info on the keep away time frame Oscar :)

Thank you for your feedback.

I had heard that Forbid was less toxic than Floramite. Proof's in the pudding.

I think now would be a good time to talk about PPE and REI

Things that you should be wearing anytime you spray any of the products mentioned in this thread.

Chemical approved respiratorChemical approved Tyvek Suit with hoodRubber bootsLong Cuff Chemical approved gloves

The minimum time required for no entry into the room. Also, exhaust fans should be shut off , but Dehumidifiers left on. If the exhaust fan does not exit the basement, bedroom, warehouse, ect.. then spray any of these products.

Eagle 20EW - 24 Hour REI

Forbid - 12 Hour REI

Avid - 12 Hour REI (No Longer in my opinion safe to spray on Cannabis)

Floramite - 12 Hour REI (No longer in my opinion safe to spray on Cannabis)

Great thread guys!

Found this post in another thread about all these sprays. Good info on REI Time frames. Looks like forbid is 12 hours to stay out.

@Skunkmasterflex , dam son I jus found this thread, didn't kno u were haven those mite issues. Ive had to use Avid Before and I felt the same way as u. suiting up like that and working with that shit also gave me a bad anxiety attack. i needed a zantie afterwards.
If ur gonna spray once and done, Id suggest following up with azamax a few days later and again in a few more.

Iv had mites forever. I just keep them minimal but I'm finally at the point where I'm sick of seeing them pop up in bloom. My veg never gets bad as I spray neem and stuff like that on the regular but don't like to spray much of anything in bloom unless it gets noticeable and I just use mighty wash.

A buddy told me of his mix he uses as a dunk and a spray for mites. He uses 1 tsp of spinosad, 1 tsp of neem and 1 tsp azamax. I used this a few times and it works awesome if you get any new cuts. Do it by a sink and run them under some water and left the water beat any eggs or mites off and keep going back and forth between dunking in the mix and water. That method saved a ton of cuts I almost lost and it's full organic certified. Azamax is nice stuff to use. I'll probably keep using it after the mites are gone as a preventative

...and i feel you on wanting some anxiety meds after you spray chems. I swear I had an anxiety attack from having that respirator on for like 15 minutes. Started to breath all shallow and shit. Then because I have anxiety I made myself think it was taking in vapor from the chems so it was closing my lungs up lol. I'm perfectly fine today so I'm sure I'll be fine in general. Wild what mind is capable of hahahaha

This information should be on the label. If it isn't, then I'd be questioning whether or not it's been 'stepped on' a la 80s blow.

The label doesn't say anything about REI. Then again the labels don't tell you to wear a respirator mask and goggles either....just long pants, long shirt, gloves and shoes and socks.

I'm glad I got the use out of the way. Won't be doing it again strictly because the shit now scares the hell out of me to work with. My new thing is if I need to wear and suit and respirator to use a product I won't use it. A dust mask and gloves and cover skin is all I'm going through from now on.

I just hope you didn't get a watered down/diluted version, that'll create more trouble than it solves. Everything similar to that that I've purchased from the manufacturer or approved distributor has all that information on it, from PPG, to REI, to PHI (pre-harvest intervals)--all of it. EPA and state registration #s should be on there, and a whole slew of other information regarding superfund waste clean-up, yadda yadda yadda.

Yeah mine was bought off ebay. I didn't want to buy a massive bottle since I knew I was gonna be using only a small amount. I bought a sample size. 1/4 oz. It was $25 and came with paperwork from the manufacturer. The eBay seller had a lot of good reviews and other that had bought the same product as i did so hopefully it's fine.

I got some stuff off eBay and I'm never doing it again ('cide'). Since I have an operator's licence I'm able to buy certain products sold for ag production. I do not have a pesticide applicator's license because I do organic only, so I haven't taken the training that's required for that. It's more expensive, but my peace of mind is truly worth it if I'm going to go that route.

Which version of the Forbid did you get? Some are approved for ornamentals only, such as the 4F.

You definitely want to make this the last time you use that.

Have you got an atomizer by any chance, the kind for greenhouses? After my last spider mite-ridden run, I used that with my isopropyl mix in my room and in fact I did the whole basement. You can't stay in there with a thick fog, but done every three days like I do the plants I feel it helped me prevent further spread.

That said, we have a qualified metric shit ton of toyon around the property and after doing some more reading, I now understand why I see spider mites on new plants, especially my green beans, every year. FAR easier to eradicate indoors than out, thank God!

Yeah I only got this little bottle because I knew I was only gonna be spraying my veg area once.

I was looking into a atomizer or a fogger of sorts to just let let run in the veg rooms and close them up and let the shit cover everything. When you use yours do you remove hoods of of the rooms and cover electrical outlets?

This is the one I was looking at

I don't remove the hoods, but everything is covered well. Dave gets those bulk shop rags at Costco, and that's what I use.

That looks just like the one I paid almost double for because I was going to be traveling and I HAD to have it for Tx before I left.

Yup, that's exactly it.

FYI, I was REALLY worried about starting a fire using the isopropyl in that thing, so I did a LOT of research. What I found was that even though it's being put out as superfine droplets, because it's diluted with water to such a large degree, it cannot ignite.

I've started a few rubbing alcohol fires, all accidental but they all scared the shit outta me.

Edit: I cover outlets, but only with those baby safety thingies. I want the iso to get into any crack or crevice where a mite might hide. Adding to the goodness of the iso is the fact that it's a great degreaser and cleaner.

I've got that same model SMF,it works well for me......
I just put it in the room when I'm finished spraying/fogging the plants and I let it fog the room for a few minutes.....
It's what I used to eradicate mites from a 1200 sq. ft. indoor environment.....atomizers FTW!
