lol, just poking fun of some of the crazier back stories ive heard. that in no way is the truth

however the story is def a bit more bleak.. basically bought every seed made of it, then my whole seed collection was thrown away by a room mate that didnt recognize the grail that was that margarine container. lesson learned.
Lmao! Damn, I almost believed it! Oh, that's sux bout ur collection, major disappointment. But it is some dank looking shizznit fosho!

Would love to do a cookie x UK Cheese before the next big thing...

I'm eagerly awaiting a log on the GSC x Amnesia too. I really want to run them!

So are we limited to new stuff being made out of old stuff???
I feel it's going to be something NEW. Unless it's an OG that gives girls orgasms upon exhale, there is a shitload that's not only played out but just boring now as far as the 'strain game'. It'll either be stupidly overhyped for no reason or it will truly be unique.

One important thing I try to keep in mind is that this is a plant, which has adapted unique traits in order to thrive in its environment. When you hybridize those, especially with indicas, you lose most of the interesting recessive traits.

The next big thing should be trying to find and grow strains which have unique properties beyond "OGeez I'm bored now" and preserve those properties.

Gsc, gg, OG phenos and hybrids; they're all the same. If the strain doesn't take more than 11 weeks to flower, you're smoking the same shit over and over.

Smart people look for long flowering genetics and AVOID high thc levels, while cash croppers grow the fastest strain possible with the most thc to make up for it. Gg, gsc and all the other hybrids are boring at best. People need to read "The Cannabis Breeder's Bible" and understand genetics.

Get yourself a mix pack from Ace and watch your whole game change!

My homie made some Amnesia x GSC as well and says they are monster purple cookie looking buds with ssh/amnesia smells...ill def be dropping a few soon!
Stoked! That sounds like a great smoke if flowered until the wheels fall off. Amnesia is a great hybrid. With the added even head/body power of the cookies, it would make the slightly lysergic head from amnesia more euphoric!

I've never grown amnesia, but I noticed that I became tolerant to its more unique effects within a day. Do you guys find this or was this just questionable genetics? It definitely had the camo look of amnesia. Congrats!!

If you'd like to explain why you disagree, I'd love to hear your thoughts and perhaps I'll learn something. Snarky comments and condescension is ridiculous. Very mature of you.
Randy I can't speak for Walter, but when I started cultivating in the 70's ,land race Sativa's were as common as stretch marks on a hookers ass ........and while some were truly stellar, some were just mediocre at best......

Some Sativas like Santa Marta Gold circa 73-74 were outstanding ,as were some of the punta roja's from Columbia, and some of the Vietnamese,African, Thai and Mexican strains...
But just like strains today, not all were that potent, tasty, unique,or desirable.........

Your comment, >remarking that "smart people look for long flowering genetics and AVOID high thc levels, while cash croppers grow the fastest strain possible with the most thc to make up for it"and how "all the hybrids are boring at best "
Well that comment is going to have a lot of folks here laughing, like it or not.......

Thank's for sharing that opinion, but , it is just your personal opinion..

You're gonna find a lot of people here have a differing opinions, and oh yeah I have read the Cannabis Breeders Bible...fwiw.....

Good luck with your Sativa quest,I hope you find that special, enlightening, spiritual, mind bending ,psychedelic, pheno you're looking for.......

Thanks Waayne! That's exactly what I was looking for. I was speaking solely from my personal experience and much like Zeke and others, I've been refreshingly surprised at how much more effective (to me) the landraces I've grown are compared to many modern hybrids. It's solely my personal opinion though and now that you've clarified the reaction a lot of older farmers (well, I've got kids and gray hair as well, but still...) have. I know I was speaking authoritatively and inaccurately, so I certainly apologize.

Can you expound on the genotypes in the market that you really enjoy and how you appreciate them in different ways from the landraces? I ask because I want to be growing with the greater good in mind, as well as my personal tastes.

Thank you again and accept my apologies for my arrogant and petulant statements/tone.

Man is there really such a pheno ? I would grow it even if it was a ruderalis dog.

Also I just popped 15 different Hazeman strains, so I'm none too opposed to quality hybrids!! ;)

I also just popped "Sweet Kush" from Sensible, which is supposed to be an F1 of Afghan Kush and some mysterious African Sativa. Does anyone have experience with this strain? Seems like a winner at face value?

I believe it's a physiological thing. One example is opiates, they don't get me high they make me feel like shit sleep and throw up....I've grown a pheno that was sativa leaning hybrid that didn't do shit for me BUT enough others enjoyed it
To stick around But this pheno had bling bag appeal bomb wreak but my receptors were just not having it....

Waayne puttin down the knowledge!! You ever thought of writing a book @waayne ? I bet you have some great stories since you've been doing this so long. I'd buy a copy for sure!

Is GG#4 really in the same class as GSC? Seems to me that it should be in a sub catergory of Chem's. o_O

@Randy- Yes, I have found the same with Amnesia. For me its not as strong as other sativas, but even though it does have a ceiling I've found if you nail it she does get better. As I've progressively hit her better organically, her potency has definitely gone up and she has less of a ceiling. Smoking a fat blunt with some folks will have them wigged out. I do think its needs a hair more potency and GSC might help on that side.

Now I do somewhat understand what you are saying about current genetics but not sure its just a landrace thing or genetics that have been muddled and watered down true characteristics over all.

For example- recently I've been lucky enough to run some pretty damn old phenos and seeds from a good friend of mine. Its starting to become more evident that the older the seeds, the less watered down the gene pool is, and in turn the more the plants true nature comes out. Recently he gave me a couple of seed plant s1's from a long time ago of common plants we have today- one OG s1 (from an og cut he says was pre lemon in the mix) and one Chem s1 from early early chem lbs. Both not only have a ridiculous vigor, all better structured, and have a stronger OG and Chem smell in veg than any of their family i run. Its odd to see such healthy plants with exact same veg smells or stronger as siblings. Hopefully that transfers to healthier, more vigorous flowers but shows kinda how far things have come even with common genes.
