Ill second that! Jacks and OG biowar teas with seagreen with rock your shit. On a side note I decided to add fascilitor to my veggie line up once a week and no shit not 2 days after using it I went to bend one of my stems 90 degrees which is usually no problem and I snapped a main beam right off. It happened twice. @Owlfarm pick up Hydroponics by J Benton Jones.

This book is on my to read list: "Understanding PH management for container grown crops", William R. Argo, Paul R. Fisher

Not absolutely sure this is the best place to post, but I have a question related to this / building your own nutes.

Is anyone running pre-limed soil mixes with variations of formulas? I was curious if someone who has, could offer a recommended N:Ca ratio? I know with coir you run close to 1 but that's related largely to issues with coir (from what I understand).

Also, I guess one other question. For those that play with profiles quite a bit; what's your preferred N:K ratio for mid and late bloom?

Hey guy just to let you know I have been PH downing with the MOST. Its awesome. I mix 25 grams in a liter or two of water mix and then add the solution slowly to the Rez until the ph is right. No harsh acids used and Im adding beneficial trace elements to the mix. I keep the rest of the mix and use it later. Works like a charm. Any thoughts?

been thinking of using jacks too. price mainly but also it seems to make sense to me. i am currently finishing my last round of soil using bpb. im easing into gh 6/9 micro/bloom at about 1.7 entering into week 3 and four. i add botanicare calmag and water down to 1.7. ph 5.8-6.0 i use silica as my ph up and am in willamette valley tap water at about 0ec 60ppms. i am undersized in my soil pots and am testing out my autofeed topfeed dtw. ill likely roll with the gh til its gone but add 1g per gal of epsom on there and drop the botanicare calamag once i put my first run of coco with gg4s in flower or is tha even necessary. also what are your thoughts on the flavor enhancing properties of floraloicious plus or rather a replica usung the same very inexspensive ingredients. thanks for this thread!

Floralicious is a waste of money...

When using the Jack's 3-2-1 feed in coco all you need is an additional CAL/MAG source to pre-charge the coco. That's it.

Dont waste your money on flavor enhancers. Just use molasses if you want those bitches to taste amazing. If your not getting the taste you want out of your strain its either the pheno of the strain your growing or your environment is not dialed to your plants. Lots of little things make a big difference in the end if they are all done right. IE. temp, humidity, try 11 on 13 off for flower and nutes will all change tastes and smells in your final product. Go with the jacks it just used it full run and my shit looks like it did on GH. Im a believer! Im going to start a journal on the next round and post it in 2 months when the grow is over. Ive used and have seen used many different formulas and for $200 worth of nutes, to get the size and quality Im getting from Jacks I might never go back. Not only that but with the money you save you can afford some awesome additives. I like seagreen, Facilitor and Caps bennies. Experiment you will be glad you did.

Howdy,
I have been reading this thread for three days in my spare time and I think I learned a lot but I am running out of time and need to ask the following. I have to buy something soon. I am not half way through the thread and normally I would try to find the answers myself but baby's need food.
Running a Sentinel ebb and flow system flood every four hours started with Technoaflora and moved to Nectar of the Gods to go organic but would like to try Jacks Hydro.
What is recommended weight per gallon and what Jacks product is the stuff to use?
What kind of Epsom salts do you folks use and how bout the other supplements like the calcium. Just curious to know what is the best thing to try and at what levels to mix at? I cant buy greenhouse quantities like 25 pound bags of stuff. I don't have the room.
Does anybody use Sea Green?
Not sure if I missed anything.
I was using clay but am handicapped and have issues lifting the inner buckets out of the outer buckets so I just switched to big and chunky perlite to see if that will perform as well. Is sure a lot easier to lift. Like a million times.
Not sure if it matters here but running A51 190's & RW150's and Apache 200's and some Hans.

Thanks a million for any suggestions and help !!

3-1.8-1
Jacks Pro Hydro- Calcium Nitrate- Epsom Salts

I believe @Surfandgrow like most others is using the recipe posted above from veg through harvest and flush.

Walgreens Brand epsoms works for me. They're universal for the most part.

how bout the other supplements like the calcium.
Calcium Nitrate can be purchased through the JRpeters website in a combo pack with Jacks Hydro for a bundle savings. I have also seen Jacks Hydro being distributed through hydroponic store catalogs.

Does anybody use Sea Green?
Yes, a lot of people use it. Its a good product- especially for those who want the benefits of microbiology without having to brew tea themselves.

Thanks FreshStarts, so does the Sea Green stuff stink? My biggest issue with going hydro is the smell in my urban environment. Using Natures Nectar and its not terrible like some things I tried !!

I ment going totally organic hydro

Organics in a recirculating system are going to have it's drawbacks- smell being one of them. But I'm not the guy to talk to about those systems. @Soundguy

Seagreen does not smell bad to me. But others may disagree

You may want to re-think this...

Organics will clog everything and make it smell so foul. If you don't keep things completely sterile you'll get anaerobic bacteria i.e. rot and then you're f*cked...

Primordial Solutions makes a variation to the regular Sea Green and it is their Hydro version, look into that.

Yes I am starting to see or smell the difference for sure. I may have to go back to the stuff I have been using. My PH is way up and things don't seem happy like for many runs before. Maybe stick to the organic stuff in buckets and go back to my norm on the ebb and flow. Thanks for your help and advise !

Hey guys I just started my own collective so Im sooooo busy with deliveries and cultivation. I havnt had time to check in and say whats up. I use Jacks @3 grams per gallon, cal/nit@ 1.8 grams/gallon, epsom@ 1gram/gallon. Once a week I use OGbiowar the next day I use 1ml/gallon seagreen. I use this formula all the way through veg and flower. I recommend playing with your dilution a little bit for example I have found that If I mix 40 gallons worth of the above formula and add to 55 gallon res I get the numbers I need to make my plants happy. So add water to rez, next add 3ml/gallon protekt, then add jacks, epsom, cal/nit. Sometimes I use MOST but I find its not necessary. PH to 5.7-5.8 If adding ogbiowar or seagreen do this now. I also like to foliar feed once a week with seagreen a few days after putting it in rez, .5ml per gallon. Do this up till the 2nd week of flower. Your going to need to do a flush every week to remove the salt in your coco. It builds up high number quick. I flush by mixing 10-15 gallons of the above solution and adding to 55 gallons of RO water. I always use seagreen at full strength when I flush. Always water to runoff with Jacks. After My last run my girls were frostier then anything I have grown in 5 years and the smell and taste are better then they have been. Jacks is awesome stuff. I did have a small problem with density but my AC unit broke and my girls cooked in the room at 85-99 degrees for the last two weeks. The AC has been replaced and the next batch is up and running so hopefully I will get a super dense crop like I usually do.
