I was talking to a friend of mine the other day that is about to get his first garden up and running and he asked me what the #1 problem I had when I first started out was...
Obviously I was afraid to get a garden set up due to the fact that the laws were different back then but I got over that pretty quickly...
It was kind of a hard question for me to answer because there was a pretty big learning curve that was mostly based on trial and error.
I think that the one thing I struggled with the most, besides getting my room conditions in the right place because I skimped on the right equipment at first, would have been knowing how much of what to feed to my plants.
When I first got going (I am a hydro grower) I went off the feeding chart right away and burned my plants to a crisp. The first crop would have turned out decently (not yield wise though) but I ended up burning the shit out of them and having to trim all the crispy leaves out of the buds!
Now I am sure some of the over feeding had to do with me taking the advice of the guy at the grow store that just wanted to push product on me but it took me a few runs to figure out the right balance that worked for my room and what I was growing.
Just looking for a bit of feedback from the other farmers here so I can help push my friend in the right direction!
What was the thing that held you back when you first started growing?
Thanks for the feedback,
