Ive got extensive indoor growing experience but i've got an opportunity to expand to a nice greenhouse next year. This would allow me to take advantage of full natural light penetration and also the benefit of a much smaller power bill.
I have a friend that has a similar greenhouse. He uses potting soil mixed with perlite and hand waters every few days.
I am very experienced in hydroponics and love its many benefits. Especially the premium growth and premium yield if done correctly.
Ive seen a lot of greenhouse grows as well as outdoor grows where big pots and potting soil are used.
My question is this, is it a good idea to combine a large greenhouse together with hydroponics?
Yes, it will involve much more maintenance but I'm thinking it would likely yield about double that of an indoor grow using artificial lighting.
What are the pros and cons?
Thanks for your input,
Jen
